I Got Myself a Nokia E63
December 11, 2009At the beginning of this year, I wanted to have another phone and I fell in love with the Nokia E63. It was still priced at Php20k that time. But because my O2 is still useful as a PDA and I still got my Nokia Classic 6120 and
I’ve been using it for a week now and I have no complaints. Even after the first hour of my using it, I was already pretty happy with it. It’s so user friendly plus it has the capabilities I want — email set up, wifi, 3G plus the normal applications like video, phone, camera, radio, etc. It’s like a blackberry and more!
So anyway, that’s how I got to have the phone I want. The law of attraction really works!

I Got Myself an iPhone Clone
June 9, 2009
Two weeks ago, when I was still doing my interviews with my friends, I saw Vina carrying a brand new phone that looked exactly like an iPhone. I actually thought it was an Apple iPhone! Hadn’t she told me, Peter and I wouldn’t really know. It was so pretty (yeah, she was showing us videos of Hayden Kho with Maricar Reyes and Katrina Halili and the Brazilian model, LOL.). Not that I had to have a new phone coz I still have three working ones (my old O2 XDA IIs for texting, schedules, notes, photos, videos and other files; my reliable classic Nokia 6120 for being very handy when in public and for its easy 3G capabilities; and my Sony Ericsson W760 which I haven’t really used a lot coz it’s a bit redundant with my Nokia). Anyway, suffice it to say that I fell in love with it. But of course, I wouldn’t shell out P43,500 just to have the latest gadget. I’m no geek and I’m not even an Apple fan. I find it overpriced and not so easy to use. On the other hand, when I found out later on that there’s really not much difference between the two and Vina can get one for me at only P5000, my jaw practically dropped. I scrutinized her phone then later went to Apple Store to scrutinize the real iphone. Except for the fact that this one has a stylus, uses GPRS (Who needs HSDPA when I have three other HSDPA ready phones BUT, if you really need wifi, they also have a clone for that which is priced at P10,000. Still a steal, right?), and the iphone logo at the back uses a slightly different font, once it’s already inside the leather casing, it’s practically a clone! Other than those I mentioned, it has everything the iphone has and probably even more coz it comes with an extra battery, you can download Apple apps in it, comes with 1 GB memory card, it’s dual sim (put in your Globe, Smart and/or Sun sim if you wish!), comes with a leather Apple case and did I tell you you’ll save around P38,000 with it too (you can already buy a decent laptop with that money or maybe even go to Hong Kong or Thailand or Bangkok!)? So yeah, I got myself one. I’ve yet to discover if I’m gonna regret it, coz like I told you I’m no geek. But for P5k, it’s already very much worth it. It’s called a Sciphone, a real iPhone clone. ^_^
Post Valentine Update
February 24, 2007Before Peter and I went to sleep that fateful Valentine’s day, we were already ok. I just hugged him and kissed him and said sorry. I also read to him and Papa my previous entry even before I decided to finally post it. I even asked Papa “Pa, I’m so bad. Do you want another ‘daughter-in-law’?” To which Pa answered , “No anak… the devil you know is still better than the devil you don’t know…Hehehe… Ikaw ang mahal ko…” Awww…who can beat that? I guess I need to be goody-goody now. Peter and Pa deserves so much more from me.

The next day, Feb. 15, the three of us had dinner at Hap Chan near our place in QC. It’s sort of a preliminary for the actual post valentine celebration we’d be doing the next day. And since we were training our tummies to be flexible and expandable in preparation for the buffet, we had coffee and dessert at Figaro nearby. I was full to the point of nausea!

We bought a brand new underwater camera! Our Pentax is still not repaired coz the service center is located in New Manila and is only open Mon-Fri during office hours. I don’t know if I’ll have the time to go there any time soon. And God only knows how long repairing it will take. So, with all our upcoming travels, I couldn’t wait anymore to have my Pentax done so I bought a new one. Hehehe. I really am impulsive.

We went ahead with our dinner buffet at the new Spiral Restaurant at the Philippine Plaza. Man! It does have the longest buffet ever. I looked like a pregnant woman after 3 hrs of eating. I think I tasted everything on the table especially all the goodies in the dessert section. Hehehe.
Aside from the buffet, we also saw a dragon and ballet show. It was held on the stage in the middle of the pool area and it looked so magical and fantastic!
White Christmas?
December 15, 2006I still don’t feel the yuletide season or the so-called Christmas in the air. I guess I’m just really too old for Santa or like they say, Christmas is just for kids, REAL KIDS, hindi yung mga kids at heart lang. Or maybe I’ve been too jaded from all my angsts, personal issues and all those hurtful experiences I’ve been through ( na hindi lang obvious coz magaling ako magdala, I think, kaya I always seem carefree and happy-go-lucky). BUT I do acknowledge and appreciate all the blessings in my life this year and those that passed. I thank God for our good health (although, it could still be better through exercise and proper diet), great friends both old and new, happy beach moments and material gifts. I’ll try to improve on my relationship with my family, my boss, my employer (GSIS) and with God. I don’t wanna promise but I”LL REALLY TRY.

Speaking of White Christmas, no… we’re not dreaming of going to America and seeing the snow. The title just looked cute for the early Christmas gifts Peter and I gave to each other. Hehehe. O, diba? Oh, by the way, the Travel Sound portable speaker on the left side is brand new. I thought the old one got busted in La Union coz I brought it to the beach so I had it replaced. Apparently, it was just the cord that got damaged. But the speakers are as good as new. So now, I have two Travel Sound portable speakers by Creative. One I use when we travel and one that’s permanently stationed in our bedroom so I can plug my ipod nano and have our room in surround sound. (yes, that’s how powerful Travel Sound is). Right now, no matter how shallow it may be, these are the things that make me happyy. I’m such a couch potato. If I’m not blogging, you can catch me watching my favorite TV series on DVD, if not, I’m trying to figure out how to complete all my tasks and collect all the triwizard shields in my first ever PSP game, Harry Potter. It’s my life right now. I know…I know. It’s not healthy. I haven’t been partying nor have I been reading my books. So, to put some semblance of balance in my life, we’re going to Xaymaca later. It’s gonna be Brownman Revival’s last gig there for this year. I intend to party all night, be with great friends, drink lots of alcohol and have a lot of fun. My books? Maybe some other time… when I’m done with Prison Break. Hehehe. Ciao for now!!! Enjoy your weekend too!
PS: After reading the blog of the winner in the Phil. Web Awards, www.aboutmyrecovery.com, I suddenly felt very selfish. Well, I sometimes really am. There has been numerous calamities in our country and so many families have suffered. Anf here I am thinking about my white christmas. I’m really sorry if I’m being shallow. It’s a phase that I hope to recover from soon. Right now, I want to think that helping my family financially should be enough. We do give donations too from time to time and help out the needy in our own little ways. For those with big hearts ( and bigger pockets), check out her site and see how you can help the recent victims in Bicol.
Late Nights
December 14, 2006Again, before I end the three-part series of my Boracay Travelogue, I just wanna share with you why I haven’t been able to blog as often as I would’ve wanted. It started with the Philippine Web Awards Night when I got home so late that I immediately hit the sack as soon as I got home. Then last weekend, I took the second phase of our Management Development Program (MDP) Exam which I hope to not pass coz I don’t wanna be stuck in training for six months even it means being away from my boss for that long. Then this was followed by a series of late nights spending time with my hubby, expressing my OC (obsessive-compulsive) tendencies at home, watching SEASON II of 4400 and Prison Break on our brand new flat TV Monitor (my gift to Peter this Christmas) and playing with my brand new PSP version 2.71, the one where you can download games from the internet. It’s Peter’s early Xmas gift to me. Currently I’m playing Harry Potter’s Goblet of Fire every chance I get — in the office, in the car, in the MRT, while waiting in line for an fx and before going to bed. And today, at around 1 am, I just got home from a party I attended with my bosses and officemates. Surprisingly, I had fun! It was nice to see my boss in a different light (read: funny, happy and all giddy) and I’ll remember that everytime she’d do a devil-wears-prada on me.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this before I close my eyes… Good night everyone!
Me, Gadget Geek?
August 1, 2006I’m not the maarte type of gurl you know. I’m just a simple person with simple needs who’s kinda makikay and belongs to the fashionista types. I can be a geek rin shempre, especially when my studies are involved. But other than that, I never really considered myself the techie or gadget geek type of gal until I realized the number of stuff I (with Peter’s help) accumulated in a span of 1 year or so…

My Sony HC26E Mini Camcorder - we bought this in Malaysia last April at a much lower price (equivalent to P21,000 as compared to P26000-P34000 here); my 2nd one actually since my JVC camcorder was washed out by the waves in LA Union last summer. Darn it.
Pentax Optio W10 Life Proof Digital Camera - replaced both my first Nikon Digital Camera (due to old age) and my first Pentax WP Optio waterproof digital camera (which was stolen at Mugen Bar in Metrowalk last May. We never went back to Mugen since. Add on: Brownman Revivals’ cd of their new orig songs was stolen there and so did Vina’s wallet at another date. The waiters there are EVIL, I’m telling you!) Anyway, this camera can do everything — from going underwater to climbing mountains. It has so many settings including both regular and underwater video recording! Amazing! It even takes pictures in sepia, black&white and negative. It can also take shots of every second of a fast-moving object/person (like when we went surfing and skim boarding for example). It just has everything we need and it’s very affordable and durable. What else can we ask for, right? …
