Is i.PH shutting down? This is the question that I’ve asked Peter before since Ade told him about it several months ago. I finally had the answer straight from the owner of the i.PH blogging platform himself, Mr. Joel Disini, when Peter and I met him while shopping for kayaks here in Alabang.
he said that he will be closing down i.ph soon so it would be best for me to start copy pasting all my posts and blog files. I couldn’t believe it. He said i.ph is no longer making profit and he’s giving us bloggers around 6 months before it fully shuts down.
I know that i.ph is far from perfect and there are other better blogging platforms out there, but i.ph is my home. And now my home is slowly getting wrecked. It’s so heartbreaking.
Anyway, I am slowly transfering my posts to my sexynomad.com blog. Since I’m doing it manually as there is no other way to transfer my posts, it’s going to take some time. I may not be able to transfer everything, just those personal posts I consider really important.
Nevertheless, thank you i.ph for your awesome service all these years. I hope I’ll be able to let you go in peace.

The last time I felt this way was when I was thinking of retiring from the corporate world after 10 years of hard work. I didn’t know what I’d do with my life then. But one thing is for sure, I was fed up with the system and I knew that there’s still life after being a corporate slave for so long.
I bummed for a while and after three months, a lucrative kind of job that I can do from home landed on my lap. This was at a time when VA / virtual assistant jobs weren’t prevalent nor popular yet.
After four years of experiencing doing all kinds of gigs online, I am once again facing another crossroad. Do I continue living this way? Or do I pursue another path? Now that my hubby is earning a little bit more, perhaps I can start pursuing my passions. After all, I gave him the same opportunity to pursue his dream as I became the breadwinner of our little family for several months. Maybe I can pursue mine this time.
When Peter and I went to Bacolod, we didn’t have enough time to plan for anything. We went cowboy style while crossing our fingers that things will turn out good if not great. We faced some hiccups along the way particularly when it came to Saltimboca Inn where we stayed, but we’re happy that the rest of our Bacolod trip has been amazing.
For one, we were able to find out how to go to Mambukal Mountain Resort, located in the town of Murcia, an hour of jeep ride away from Bacolod City. Instead of renting a van for Php1,500 for a half day trip to Mambukal, we got there by spending only Php86 each on fare round trip. The ride has been adventurous, we were able to splurge on food, and we also got more than enough pocket money to check out the lagoons, river, pools and other amenities Mambukal Resort has to offer. Check out the the guide I posted on how we went to Mambukal Mountain Resort on a budget here.
