Manila Halloween 2011 Events, Philippines

October 27, 2011

Though we’re hosting a Halloween Party at home with our friends this Saturday, I keep searching the net for other activities Peter and I can do. After all, it’s a long weekend holiday here in the Philippines and we gave up a trip to Camsur CWC to celebrate Halloween in Manila to the fullest, the Sexynomad and Mordo way. (^_^)

Regardless of who needs help–relative, friend, neighbor, and even strangers– Filipinos come together to help their kababayans during times of calamities. So it comes as no surprise that when Bulacan experienced heavy rainfall and floods, Abenson stepped up to help Bulakeños in need.

This bayanihan effort is in cooperation with Samsung, Sharp, LG, TCL, Kelvinator, Condura, Fujindenzo, and Whirlpool, though the help of the Bulacan provincial government.

Caribbean Destinations: St. Martin Villas vs St. Barths Villas

October 19, 2011
They are both Caribbean islands. They both have access to some of the finest beaches in the region. Even their names are fairly similar. So, how do you decide on a villa vacation between St. Martin and St. Barths? Let’s take a closer look at these islands and what they’re like.

[View of Lune de Miel, a luxury villa on St. Martin]

About 87 kilometers square, Saint Martin is an island divided between France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. St. Martin villas tend towards being modern locations, with clean, white construction, mixed indoor and outdoor living areas, and some traditionally Caribbean styles. The island is also home to favorite locations like Lune de Miel, one of the most highly-requested villas in the entire Caribbean due to its status as a magnificent honeymoon destination. With all the features of an island that has around seventy-five thousand people living on it, villas on St. Martin are a good choice for those who want to mix tropical fun with true luxury. Additionally, the distinct cultures of the two sections of the island allow for experiencing two worlds without ever having to travel very far, and this uncommon design makes for some of the most memorable vacations in the world.

In contrast to the island of St. Martin, St. Barths is a rather smaller island, with only twenty-one kilometers square to call its own. The permanent population of the island is under ten thousand people, and this can make for a more relaxing vacation experience. Among other things, St. Barths villas gravitate a little more towards personal comfort and use as family vacation spots for people who are interested in relaxing more on their own time, rather than getting too deeply involved with the idea of a more traditional vacation. Resort areas and locations in the middle of town can indeed be very nice, but they might not always be what you want, and that makes all the difference.

So, how to decide between the islands? Simple! Merely pick which sort of experience you’d prefer; on St. Martin, you will probably find more things to do, more places to go, and more people to meet. St. Barths, on the other hand, can often give you a quieter, more relaxing vacation.

Youthful Makeup - Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear

October 18, 2011

With the frequency of my beach travels and time under the sun, the idea of me aging not so well is something that I’ve accepted a long time ago. Although as much as possible, I use sunscreen and lotions to balance out the harmful UV rays of the sun, use great skincare products like Nivea, Garnier and my all natural jelly soaps,   I have accepted the fact that I may be wrinkling sooner than expected.

So last weekend, when Peter posted a photo of me online (the one above) after an all-night party with friends and Brownman Revival, I was surprised about our friends’ positive feedback. Though I was sleepless, tired and haven’t even retouched my make up, one comment from our long-time friend, Midge, really made my day. She said how she wishes she could also stop aging like me. Wow! I was really flattered! Then I remembered this new makeup I wore from Tameraonline. It’s the Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear that’s talc-free, full of vitamins and minerals to give you that natural wear, with an applicator brush that’s so easy to use. That may have done the trick! (Unless… I have good genes and I really stopped aging! Lol!)

If you want to read the rest of my story and how the Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear made me feel so pretty, head to my complete review: Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear at Tameraonline (friends are saying I look younger than my age)

Tameraonline sells MAC cosmetics priced at less than Php300, lesser than the ones in malls with free shipping! Read my complete post and find out about their other amazing MAC cosmetics!

Our Bad Experience at Saltimboca Inn, Bacolod

October 17, 2011

It has been about four years I think since I’ve written a negative review about a resort (No to Virgin Beach, Laiya with  157 comments from 2007 onwards saying the same bad customer service). And now, I’m sorry to say that I wrote one for Saltimboca Inn in Bacolod, which I mentioned in  another post when we just came home from Bacolod. You see, I don’t care much for how a place looks as I do about being treated well, or about how the staff, owner or manager of the inn or hotel treats their customers. I mean we could be staying in a five star resort, but if basic customer service is not present, then it’s not really worth staying there (for us, that is).

As for Saltimboca Inn, I know that’s it’s a cheap, affordable tourist lodge and the unpleasant experience we had there may be exclusive to us and the circumstances that led to our experience. Nevertheless, I’d just like to share it with my readers just in case you would be traveling to Bacolod and are looking for a good and affordable room, inn, or hotel to stay at. At least you’d have an informed decision and I’m hoping that you’d have a better experience than we had.

To read my entire review of why my hubby and I found Saltimboca Inn not worth going back to, please go to this link:
