A testament that we don’t need new clothes to look gorgeous…

June 30, 2011
I recently discovered that I have this ancient cocktail dress which I’ve only worn once or twice around 5 or so years ago. If it hadn’t been for the invitation I got from Marriott Manila which required guests to come in cocktail attire in celebration of Thai Kingdom Come, I wouldn’t have o rummaged through my closet and found this pretty tube cocktail dress from YRYS. As much as possible, I always like to save money so I can have some in case of emergencies. I also believe that one need not have new clothes just to look gorgeous and pretty! It greatly depends on how you dress yourself. You might be wearing the newest, trendiest and most expensive of ensemble, but if you don’t know how to wear it well, then the money you spent won’t mean a thing.

Also, I’ve been meaning to declutter since January. I just never got around to it with the gazillion of things I do everyday. When I found my old classic black cocktail dress, which I paired with my new strappy 4-inch sparkly heels from People are People, I  remembered all the other excess stuff I need to dispose of, especially this mountain of old shoes and clothes that are piling in our storage room.

Anyway, it’s just nice to find an old dress which is still in good quality. I’m  also amazed it fit me. I must’ve lost a bit of weight because one reason I never got to wear this again was because I was still too thin the first time I bought it. Now, isn’t that a nice thought? Teehee.

Mystery Lotion that REPAIRS 8 SIGNS OF DRY SKIN

June 28, 2011

Last week, I got this mystery package in the mail. It’s a skincare product, a bottle of body lotion to be precise, which I’ve been using for a few days now. It says that it repairs the 8 signs of dry skin, to wit:

You could say that I do need a bunch of skincare products like this. Without the right lotion, my skin does tend to be dry and flaky as a result of either too much sun exposure when I go to the beach, or too much cold air when I lock myself up in my office to work.  So I immediately opened the bottle and used it that same day after I took a shower. The first thing I noticed when I opened its cap was its scent. It smelled so good and the scent stayed on my skin for a few hours after application. The lotion didn’t feel greasy too which is a good thing since I perspire a lot around the house in this very humid weather. Suffice it to say that the lotion was easily absorbed by my skin and kept my skin moisturized and hydrated all day long.

Would you know what this mystery lotion that REPAIRS 8 SIGNS OF DRY SKIN is?

Mekong Delta Tour in Vietnam

June 25, 2011

I’ll never forget this tour I did at Mekong Delta in Vietnam with one of my best gals, Jem. Just when we thought we’ve already had enough of the Mekong river cruise, the beehive and pollen juice adventure, shopping for native Vietnamese products and photo ops while carrying a  snake,  our tour guide gave us more activities to do. We may be tired after the trip, but we liked the fact that we were getting so much value for our money during this particular tour.

Aside from checking out the  coconut factory, riding the kalesa, biking, and touring the countryside on foot, I also discovered that some Indian food do taste good. For the firsttime I ate Chicken Jalfrezi, Cheese Naan and Daal. They’re not just scrumptious but they were very nutritious too! I think the trick there was the particular herb they used called cumin. Remind me to start adding that in my daily staple. Read the entire post of my Mekong adventure here:

I promised you before that I’ll share with you the full style / getup that Net Bautista did on me that weekend she had my makeup and hair done. You’ve already seen the casual ensemble she made me wear. On this post, I will show you how Net Bautista transformed my look  from casual to sexy and vixen. The photographs were taken by  my hubby, Peter Juan, I edited some of them for additional effect. But really, the reason why I looked so gorgeous in the pictures was because of the amazing talent of my stylist, Net Bautista. Read the rest of my post here:
