I used to think of the Caribbean as one country like the Philippines or Mexico. It’s not until I started hearing about wonderful Caribbean holidays with Florida, Jamaica, Barbados and Grenada in the mix that I started wondering what the Caribbean really is. So I began researching about it and found that the Caribbean is actually a region which consists of the Caribbean sea and thousands of islands and islets, 7,000 in fact, more or less like the Philippines with various reefs and cays.
For a better picture, here’s a map of the Caribbean:
It is located southeast of North America and Gulf of Mexico; north of South America; and east of Central America.
I won’t anymore go into further geographical and historical details since we have wikipedia for that. But let me just say that the stories I heard so far are just so amazing that I’d really want to go visit this region at least before I die.
My Caribbean holiday may include Jamaica as a dream destination. They have various exciting activities there for tourists and vacationers alike. I can do some rock climbing by the waterfalls; trek a rainforest if I want to; horse ride by the beach simply because it’s allowed. I can practically do some of the things which I haven’t yet done before.

If I want to have a wonderful beach experience, I can explore one or more of the 365 exotic beaches in Antigua! The sky is the limit! I heard Antigua is similar to Boracay such that it also has a good evening vibe with the numerous bars and restuarants tourists will definitely enjoy. So what do you think?
