I’m trying out some new casual styles these days… well, new for me at least. Coz when I say casual clothes, I usually mean wearing Bohemian or Gypsy-like ensembles. This preference for more carefree outfits stemmed from my love of ANG TV before, an old teen show in ABS-CBN back in the early 90’s. Jolina was my idol back then and I tried as much as possible to be like her fashion-wise. The thing is, as Jolina grew older, she changed her style, but I never seem to have gotten around to doing that. I love unique outfits, I love matching colors, I love outfits that I don’t usually see other people wear. This was of course before the era of cosplay came around. Now, a lot of kids wear all sorts of pretty and weird costumy apparel which I myself don’t see wearing anytime soon. In a way, I have to admit that I’m a bit old-fashioned… I guess.
Anyway, I digress. My point is, I am trying to break out from my usual Bohemian / “matching color ensemble” fashion mode and trying to explore a more casual look using apparel of unmatching colors. I’ve read somewhere that it’s what’s in these days. Although I don’t usually cater to what’s trendy, I guess there’s no harm in being a little bit open-minded for once and allow the current fad to overwhelm me.
So, the last two weekends, I tried NOT to wear matching colors for my shoes and bag/shoes and clothes. I know it’s not that bold yet but it’s a start. Who knows, I might wear something totally outlandish next time. ^_^
