Bonueva Home is so far the most affordable accommodation / one of the cheapest rooms I have found in Boracay when I was still planning my one month stay in this beautiful island. Now that I am here on my 7th day, I am very happy to have booked my stay here at Bonueva Home. Their fan rooms rent for Php500 per day and this already includes wifi inside the room, hot and cold shower, clean water system, double bed, cable TV, free hot water for coffee and tea, change in bed sheets and towel, and your own broom to clean the floor. The prices get cheaper the longer you stay. They also offer use of washing machine and kitchen facilities for an additional minimal fee. If you’re looking for cheap rooms in Boracay, come join me here! It is indeed very much worth it.
I first wanted a fan room when I booked my stay here at Bonueva Home last November 2010. Come February, I changed my mind and upgraged my booking to an air conditioned room since I’ll be staying from March 25-April 26 and I didn’t want my computer (yes, I’d still be working) to fry from the summer heat. As it turns out, now that I am here, it’s been very breezy here in Boracay, and the people here at Bonueva Home have been very accommodating. Ervin Bonot, the owner, even asked me if I need any other assistance like extra table and chair, more hot water, laundry, etc. I am really thankful for Ervin and his mom Ella, who has also been very kind to me.
Because of Bonueva Home, my dream of living on a budget on this beautiful island of Boracay has now come true. You can too! Check out the rates of their cheap Boracay rooms and cheap apartments which they can rent out on a daily basis as well as weekly and monthly. The longer you stay, the more discounts you get. Ervin Bonot also gives 10% discount if you pay your booking in advance.

Some of these new bikinis I bought were supposed to be for our Magalawa trip which was scheduled o the same weekend the Japan earthquake and tsunami happened. That trip of ours was cancelled under the dire circumstances. But after 2 weeks, I hadno other choice but to go on with my life and my plans.

I call these 11 Jollibee meals that I ordered at 1 o’clock in the morning my last supper. Of course, I didn’t mean it literally. It’s more of a little preview of what my diet would be not be like once I start living in Boracay. It’s all happening very, very soon which I why I woke up today with a huge know in my tummy. No, not because of these Jollibee meals. I ordered these a week ago. I guess it’s because THIS IS IT!

I’m trying out some new casual styles these days… well, new for me at least. Coz when I say casual clothes, I usually mean wearing Bohemian or Gypsy-like ensembles. This preference for more carefree outfits stemmed from my love of ANG TV before, an old teen show in ABS-CBN back in the early 90’s. Jolina was my idol back then and I tried as much as possible to be like her fashion-wise. The thing is, as Jolina grew older, she changed her style, but I never seem to have gotten around to doing that. I love unique outfits, I love matching colors, I love outfits that I don’t usually see other people wear. This was of course before the era of cosplay came around. Now, a lot of kids wear all sorts of pretty and weird costumy apparel which I myself don’t see wearing anytime soon. In a way, I have to admit that I’m a bit old-fashioned… I guess.
Anyway, I digress. My point is, I am trying to break out from my usual Bohemian / “matching color ensemble” fashion mode and trying to explore a more casual look using apparel of unmatching colors. I’ve read somewhere that it’s what’s in these days. Although I don’t usually cater to what’s trendy, I guess there’s no harm in being a little bit open-minded for once and allow the current fad to overwhelm me.
So, the last two weekends, I tried NOT to wear matching colors for my shoes and bag/shoes and clothes. I know it’s not that bold yet but it’s a start. Who knows, I might wear something totally outlandish next time. ^_^

On November 2010, I found an opportunity to go to Boracay, work and live there on a shoestring budget like a local for a month, which is also the perfect chance for me to culminate this search of self, happiness and independence I have been doing since 2008. So I booked my flights, booked my accommodation and prayed that things go according to plan. It sounded exciting a first. Then I had no choice but to let go of one of my freelance jobs, then the Japan quake and tsunami happened, and then my plan didn’t seem as exciting anymore. As the days go by, and with everything happening around the world, the excitement is also mixed with a sense of fear and dread. Now that I’m only a few days away from my dream Boracay getaway, I dunno what to think. I still am exhilarated to have this chance and I am pervently praying that I will be able to complete the one month that I will totally be on my own. .. no husband to cater to my every whim, no friend to keep me company…
