Loving SM Cubao 3-Day Sale (Oct.1-3)

Did you know that SM Cubao is the third of the chain of all SM Department Stores owned and developed by the very well-known Henry Sy. Sr.? It is the one located at the Araneta Center  in Cubao, Quezon City which I used to visit all the time back in college. Come to think of it, it’s the very first SM store that my mom and I visited when I was just a kid and that was almost three decades ago!

And so I was really surprised when I got the chance to visit it again yesterday. SM Cubao is now looking so posh and elegant, as if it’s one of those beautiful malls I have visited in my Asian travels. It’s not only very well constructed and designed, SM Cubao has everything anyone could ever need!

The newly renovated branch is one of a kind. It is the only branch that houses Cyberzone inside the department store. It is located at the basement level, right across the SM Supermarket. So to all those who do their groceries with the whole family, while mommies shop for food,  with just a few steps, the kids and daddies can head to Cyberzone for gadgets, computers, cell phones, gaming consoles and the likes. What a perfect setup, right?

That’s not all. SM Cubao has everything any shopper could ever need or want — aside from the fashionable apparel and home items, there are also a wide array of casual dining places, a lot of wellness and service stores, bills payment and business centers at every floor, a zone events center, raflle draw every hour and one of the few branches that houses the  Lounge Area for Privilege Card holders.

I’ve always known most of these things about SM before. But when I saw it firsthand yesterday, I was beyond happiness,most especially because SM Cubao is holding a fantastic 3-day sale from Oct.1-3 with tons of buy one take one items, huge rebates plus 10% more discount to all SM Advantage Card (SMAC) holders during the first two hours of shopping (10:00 am - 12:00 noon)!

I had Php1,000 to spend yesterday and look at these awesome items I got:

Sarah Peyton Ergonomic Memory Foam Pillow

I’ve always wanted one because not only would it be a perfect match to our memory foam bed at home to help support my neck while sleeping, I was also planning to use it as a support for my back when working long hours  online  (which is all the time).  This memory foam pillow also  has temperature-sensitive technology that responds well to my head’s and back’s weight and warmth.  However, every time I’d see it in other malls, it would cost almost Php1000.00 which I thought was too much for such a pillow. So when I saw it priced at only Php399.75, with an additional 10% discount,  I immediately put it in my shopping cart! I’m now using it while doing this blog post and oh my, I’ve never been so comfy while sitting here in front of the computer.
 

American Home Coffee Maker

Coffee is a must in our house. My husband and I almost never sleeps which is why we brew coffee all the time. But that doesn’t mean I finish it all in one sitting. We do have a coffee press at home but it’s a big one and not suitable for one to two cups of brewed coffee.  Every time I’d brew one, half a liter  either gets cold even before I finish it or the  remaining coffee gets wasted. So I was very delighted when I saw this super cute little coffee maker! It’s perfect for one to two cups of my caffeine fix, a big savings on ground coffee,  comes with its own ceramic mug, and very portable and light. It’s now stationed here in my home office for excellent brewing experience. Would you believe that this cost only Php379.75 plus an additional 10% discount? Love it!

Edmark Safety Cutlery Set and American Style Kitchen Apparatuses (Knives, Peeler, Grater, Vegetable Carver, Yo-Yo Whisk and  Pastry Puff Maker)

I was thinking of my husband, Peter, when I  was buying this set. He is the king of our kitchen while I am his sexy little kitchen helper. Because of our very hectic schedules, it is seldom that we prepare any lovely dishes because we just don’t have the time. With this set that I bought, time will no longer be an issue! We can prepare amazing salads, cook scrumptious meat dishes, concoct frothy fruit, chocolate and coffee mixes, and even make some empanadas in less than five minutes! Yes, this kitchen apparatus set is truly amazing! At only Php299.75 plus another 10% discount, it truly is  a great buy!

All in all, I spent only Php971.32 for all nine pieces of items. I couldn’t believe it! This 3-day sale at SM Cubao is truly a blessing, especially for practical homemakers like me. I then used the Ph28.68 change to add to my SMAC card payment. If it weren’t for the kind and lovely sales ladies at the counter, I wouldn’t even know that my SMAC already expired and that I can still get the 10% discount even it was already 12:10 pm then. Teehee. I’m really falling in love with you, SM Cubao! Looks like you are one department store that I will keep coming back to even if I live in Alabang.
