Yep, you read that right. As vain and kikay as I can be, I am choosing Schutzen Perpetual Planner for the coming 2010. I’ve had my years with the vain, colorful and ad/promo/coupon laden ones. And guess what? I never really used them. I never even used all those coupons. For some coupons that I did use, I was just pressured to use them coz “sayang naman” and wasn’t that the whole point of those coupons? To make you buy and buy unneccessary stuff just because of a discount? Tsk, tsk. My old planner also had the so-called useful tips which weren’t really useful for me coz I already know them and I can easily have the info online. Then sometime before middle of each year, I stopped using those planners. What a waste of colorful pages. Though they were cute, they proved to be stressful. Considering that I already have my blogs, my computer and online files, and my gadgets, updating those planners just seemed to be redundant and quite taxing at that time. But because of my OC (obsessive-compulsive) nature, I do need something handy, simple, direct to the point, clean, lasting and on paper (coz my old O2 keeps dying on me and I may lose some online/computer files). And these are the things that the Schutzen Perpetual Planner is.
Why PERPETUAL?
This planner is comprised of two things: the Schutzen protector which is made of sturdy leather-like material and the Schutzen notebook. Both come in different colors. Once the notebook inside is used/filled at the end of the year, I can just buy a new one, a refill Schutzen notebook, for the coming new year and attach it to the old protector. It’s practical and it’s useful. It’s perfect especially for someone like me who values where my time and money go. I am being more efficient that way, a trait that most of us must imbibe in these financially challenging times.
Here are the other reasons why I am beginning to like the Schutzen Perpetual Planner so much:
This planner’s monthly, weekly and daily pages have no dates. I will be the one to put the month, the week, the day on the pages of my notes. How genius is that?! This means, that when I go on vacation for a month, or a week, or a few days and decide to do nothing but sunbathe by the beach, I won’t be wasting any pages of my Schutzen planner just because I have nothing else scheduled! Ahhhh… I applaud the one who made this! It’s so simple in thought but genius in application.
It has simple pages for projects/goals, meeting/events and for taking down important notes. There are no fuss and distraction. The pages are tidy and immediately lead your eyes to where you want them.
This planner also contains 14 clean blank pages where I can write and draw whatever I want. I can make my 2010 vison board there, paste some photos, doodle some ideas, attach some stickers, etc. So perfect for an artistic wild child like moi!
And because the pages of this planner are so clean (no ads, no promos, no extra stuff), I can play with my small sticker and post-it collection. They’re just stickers I bought in National Bookstore before, and some in Hong Kong in 2007 and I still haven’t used them. I’ve also collected several post-its throughout the years. Most of them have also never been used. This is the perfect time to start using these colorful planner accessories because they will definitely shine. Unlike in my old planners where these stickers and post-its just drowned in the variety of page colors and designs.

I really have a nice feeling about this planner. I really think that I will be able to use it for the whole year. ^_^
