Laiya, Batangas…Les Caraibes Resort - An Evening in Party Paradise

November 2, 2009

October 17, 2009… Les Caraibes Resort in Laiya, Batangas celebrated Oktoberfest and Peter and I were lucky enough to have been invited. We were both sooo looking forward to spending that weekend together since I was so busy in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro the previous week and we still had so much catching up to do as husband and wife. Unfortunately, my work ends Saturday mornings and we usually have errands to run.

We checked in here last July… very cozy bahay kubo

What a beautiful beach!

So before we knew it, it was already afternoon when we left the house and we arrived there at the break of dusk. That’s alright because the party won’t be starting until around 8 pm. ^_^

WE checked-in at their airconditioned cluster this time. It was huge and so pretty… 8 people can actually fit in this room. It has a nice toilet, shower area and another separate powder room. Perfect for kikay and vain girls like me!

I immediately looked for Tita Len (owner of Les Caraibes Resort). I expected it was going to be a night of fun, drinking and dancing and we might not be able to bond anymore once the party kicks in.

Fortunately, Tita Len  was at the restaurant entertaining other guests (Mrs. Merk and a French guy named Phillipe if I remember correctly). We spent some time with them before Peter and I headed to the beach to enjoy the warm seawater.

Even at night, the beach looked so clean and inviting. The water looked so clear and it felt so warm amidst the cold, breezy air. The stars were shining so brightly. This was the first time I felt so relaxed in weeks! I missed this kind of recreation. Had we been a little younger and had we been at a deserted beach where we know nobody, we might have done the nasty… nah..not that! Just skinny dipping! Hehehe.

During dinner, we were introduced to Carelle Mangaliag and RR Herrera (yes, the former child start RR Herrera) who are both working as life coaches for their company www.emotivatingminds.com. Honestly speaking, that was the first time I met a woman who was sooo like me! I mean, all these years, I’ve been wondering why I seem to be so unique… in my principles, in the things I do… in the things I believe in… nobody seems to understand me completely… nobody seems to really know how my mind works… (except Peter of course) until I met Carelle. And together with RR, they are just two of the most amazing people I’ve ever met in my entire life. It’s so freakishly awesome!!! Most of the time if not all the time, I am the one adapting to how people behave and think. I think this is why my closest friends love and miss me. It’s coz I can be like them. Even with strangers, I have this habit of mimicking them so I can easily blend in… so freaky…I know. But with Carelle and RR, there was no need to adapt… there was no need for me to instantaneously change my personality (it usually comes automatically to me whenever I’m with my friends and other people). The things they said and did that night exactly mirrored the things in my head… the beliefs I have… the way I am living my life. Until now it’s giving me the creeps… in a nice way, that is.

Anyway, as expected, we immediately hit it off which made the party a total blast! RR even introduced me to Aiza Suegerra who played that night. Even when I was in my early 20s, I’ve already heard people say how good Aiza is  as an an artist. But because this was the first time I really saw her play live and I saw how excellent she was, I was totally dumbfounded. I can be totally gaga over someone very, very talented. And with enough alcohol in my system, I managed to have the guts to tell it to her face. OMG!!! Thanks RR, for introducing me to Aiza. I’m forever grateful! ^_^

We all partied the night away together with Yvette who sang that night with her band FLICKER FUSION, Ash (one of the resort owner’s sons) , and some locals. Mr. Richard Merk dropped by at our table but I was already sooo drunk I forgot to have my photo taken with him. ^_^ He reminded me of the awesome time we had the last time we were here at Les Caraibes back in July. ^_^

Les Caraibes is the only resort in the Laiya area that holds parties like this. Most other resorts are already very quiet in the evening. But Les Caraibes would usually have a band or couple of bands play to entertain  their guests. The food is great and very affordable too! Because we had such a filling dinner, we just ordered some pica-pica for pulutan that evening.

The next morning, we woke up late, as expected. I  was planning to spend some time frolicking at the beach but because we had to catch a bloggers’ event at Enchanted Kingdom, we had to rush back to Laguna. Their kind reservation officer, Joel, helped check us out.  All the other resort officers were very gracious to us  as well which is another thing Peter and I love about this resort. Once you’re a guest, you can really feel you’re part of their family. ^_^ We hope to come back here and enjoy the beach some more very, very soon. ^_^
