~~~oOo~~~
On my 2nd day at Cagayan de Oro, Mer and I decided to go explore the city… well, sort of. Hehehe. Well, first on our agenda was to go to Divisoria and look for an internet shop coz we both had to check something for our VA jobs (such workaholics). Thank God for Netopia which was just around the corner at R & M Building, Abejuela Street, Cagayan de Oro City. Yipeee!
We then headed to Xavier (Ateneo de Cagayan) and checked out their many nooks, crannies and museum. High school memories came rushing back. This was where I first met my M.F.E.O. soulmate (meant for each other) or so I thought; where I participated in tons of interschool competitions, quiz bees and activities; in the church where I opened my scholarship acceptance letter from Ateneo de Manila; where I stalked many of my crushes, etc…etc… Teehee.
Afterwards, we checked out this quaint restaurant where I had my very first date with my very first secret boyfriend back in High School. Hahaha! The place used to be called Blueberry but they changed it into something else. I couldn’t really describe properly the memory I have of this place. You see, on my 16th birthday, I treated my first boyfriend here. So there we were, dining and enjoying ourselves when all of a sudden, my then boyfriend handed me a tissue with a note. I thought he was just being corny and sweet…you know… the way teenagers were supposed to be. Unfortunately, what he wrote on the tissue paper sort of caught me off guard. On it was written: “Sigurado kang afford mo dito”? (Are you sure you can afford the food here?). Until now, I honestly dunno if he was joking at that time or what. But it got me pretty annoyed. Knowing me, I just enjoyed the rest of our time there but I never forgot how unromantic that bf of mine can get. He’s happily married now with a kid and I hope his wife does not feel envious of me anymore. Seriously, Mer and I weren’t invited to their wedding (even if the guy at that time was one of our best guy friends — heck he stayed with us when his wife left him days before his wedding!) just coz his wife doesn’t like us. Oh well. That’s that. So where was I?
Oh yeah… considering that I had not-so-fond memories of this place, I told Mer if we can just head to Lim Ket Kai Mall instead, where we had lunch at Gloria Maris and coffee & ice cream at Fiorgelato. We bought some native pica-pica too. Mer and I just talked the afternoon away, after which I bought her tons of baby stuff as our gifts for Heaven. ^_^
In the evening, Mer and I went to Malberry Suites where Mer’s Dad sings with his band. They’re excellent! It was a good day for both of us.^_^
To be continued…
