Proper Way of Eating Fruits

September 2, 2009

Ever since I became an advocate for World Health Organization through Vita Plus, I kept learning a lot of great things about health and wellness. One thing I learned is about the proper way of eating fruits. Many of us do eat fruits and vegetables, right? But are we sure that we are maximizing its health benefits? Sometimes, it even makes us feel bloated,  our tummy gets acidic, we burp and fart a lot, etc. Find out why. This article was taken from VITACLUB, an independent business associate of First Vita Plus Marketing Corporation (FVPMC), teaching us all how to eat fruits the right way to attain better health:

EATING FRUITS

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths.  It’s not so easy as you think.  It’s important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

* IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!

* FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let’s say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit.  The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so. In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat water-melon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I   eat banana I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach.  The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Greying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemons are acidic because all fruits become \ alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did a research on this matter.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT From the cans. Don’t even drink Juice that has been heated up. Don’t eat cooked fruits because you don’t get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste.  Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body.  Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI:  Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, Vitamin E & fiber. Its Vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low Vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of Vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessels-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE: Sweetest medicine. Taking 2 -4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest Thirst Quencher Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene - the cancer fighting oxidant.. Other nutrients found in watermelon are Vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for Vitamin C.  They are the clear winners for their high Vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

wow ! interesting facts :)

it’s so common notion that fruits are served as desserts… making it being served after meals. So pano yun ? Nakakasama pala yun?

How about bananas and mangoes ? What sort of nutrients do they provide ?

I like drinking cranberry fruit juices. Hinahanap ko sa bottle na contains 100% fruit juice and no concentrate. Kasi kaya masmura yung ibang fruit juices kasi lesser than 100% percent. Some contain 19%, 15%, 10% and even those eh 5% lang. I also like grapefruit (kahit anong asim niya) and grape juice drinks. Kaya pag sale mga yun, I buy up to 8 liters worth. Mabuti na lang not many people know what those cranberry juices are and taste kaya nasasale siya dahil di masyado mabenta. :)

Hi Jay!

Yeah, fruits should be eaten before meals pala… with an empty tummy. This way, when they get digested, their nutrients go straight into our blood stream.

It’s good that you drink 100% fruit juice. But really, even those in bottles and cans contain some sort of preservative. But anyway, cranberries are the best I think, coz they have anti-cancer properties. They’re my favorite too. I used to buy those in cartons before. Mura nga sha coz not many people like the taste.

Yun nga lang, ever since I started taking vita plus, di na rin ako madalas bumibili nun coz Vita is complete na in itself. It’s a miracle drink with all the nutrients you need to fight odd cancer and other diseases.

Anyway, about bananas naman, eto ang healt benefits nya:
By a high potassium to sodium content, bananas may prevent high blood pressure and its complications. High fiber content may also contribute to this effect. High potassium may also prevent renal calcium loss, in effect preventing bone breakdown. In diarrhea, it contributes with electrolyte replacement, as well as increased absorption of nutrients. Bananas also have some antacid effect, protecting from peptic ulcers. Pectin content, a hydrocolloid, can ease constipation by normalizing movement through the intestine. The low glycemic index in unripe bananas is of particular benefit to people with diabetes.High fructooligosaccharide content may work as a prebiotic, nourishing the intestinal flora to produce beneficial vitamins and enzymes.Carotenoid content has antioxidant effects, and protects against vitamin A deficiency, resulting in e.g. night blindness

O diba ang galing ng bananas? And with Vita Plus, per sachet, I get the equivalent of having had 3 bananas in one sitting.

Mangoes naman, rto nutritional info nya:
Mango is rich in a variety of phytochemicals and nutrients that qualify it as a model “superfruit”, a term used to highlight potential health value of certain edible fruits. The fruit is high in prebiotic dietary fiber, vitamin C, polyphenols and provitamin A carotenoids.[12]

Mango contains essential vitamins and dietary minerals. The antioxidant vitamins A, C and E comprise 25%, 76% and 9% of the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) in a 165 g serving. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, 11% DRI), vitamin K (9% DRI), other B vitamins and essential nutrients such as potassium, copper and 17 amino acids are at good levels. Mango peel and pulp contain other phytonutrients, such as the pigment antioxidants - carotenoids and polyphenols - and omega-3 and -6 polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Vita Plus has Mango Juice din combined with the five power herbs. So instead of buying tons of fruits like I used to before , I just take 1 sachet of Vita Plus every morning. :-)

Power!
