Tayong Dalawa, The Wedding Scene

August 28, 2009

OMG!!!! Here it is!!!!  Remember when I posted about my Tayong Dalawa taping? Well those 20 hours of hard work (divided unequally in two days) paid off… I think! Anyway, just see for yourself. This was the wedding scene of Audrey King (Kim Chiu) and Dave (Jake Cuenca) and I was the pesky reporter in the church scene and the news anchor at the bar scene (how come the TV background was disco lights? Harhar!) Anyway, it was quite an experience. Enjoy!

 In fairness, even on TV, they say I look like I lost weight. To think being on TV adds about 10 lbs! Well, I can never say this enough — thanks to Vita Plus!

P.S. Thanks to @aeirin of Plurk  for posting it on my timeline. Mwah!

Binge Eating & Unplanned Mini House Party

August 24, 2009

After binging the previous night, I was still able to wear my tight fitting top which I haven’t been wearing for the last year or so…

 I’ve been so happy with Vita Plus lately that even if I still eat my favorite food, I always go back to my desired weight of 100 lbs. In fact, when this photo above was taken, I just binged on isaw, rice, pares and a tub of pistachio ice cream the previous night! I usually wake up with a huge tummy afterwards, not to mention a constipated tummy. But instead, I managed to look trim and I was able to poop well.  In fact, after 2 years, I got to wear my tight fitting top again! This never happened to me before! I was normally 110 give or take 5 pounds but never 100 and most especially  not 99! At my age (I’m 31), I just figured that my metabolism slowed down that’s why no matter how many kickboxing sessions I did, I never seem to really hit my dream weight. But everything changed with my yummy vegetable juice. I just  drink a glass of either dalandan or melon flavored Vita Plus veggie drink  upon waking up or 30 mins. before any meal which already keeps me full and energetic the entire day! No wonder  I’ve been managing to juggle a lot of my passions lately so yahoo for me! And I don’t even have time to exercise anymore. What a way to go!

As I’ve mentioned in my previous blog post on Vita Plus, one of its ingredients is Sili Leaves. They have capsicum frutescens which cleans the fatty blockages in our veins and arteries making our blood flow a lot faster. Increased blood flow means increased oxygen which therefore translates to increased metabolism. Woohoo!!! For further inquiries, you may text or call me at 0918-9270850. I’m now an advocate for World Health Organization, inspiring people to go back to vegetables thru Vita Plus. :-)

 Anyway, last Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009,  was a full day for me…

1:30 PM - Lunch with Koryn. We dined at Yaku (located at 3/F Podium), a fantastic Japanese restaurant.

 3:30  PM - We dropped by Vita Plus office to check out other products, meet up with my friends and pay for my camping fee. I’m so excited!!! Ces and I will be camping on Aug. 28-30 at Pansol, Laguna! Woopee!!!

5:20 PM - While I was lining up for my VTR at Adcaster in Makati, Koryn and Peter stayed at Murphy’s and ordered some food. I followed afterwards and finished off their potato wedges. ^_^

8:00 PM - We all went home for an unplanned house party!  Dino (vocalist of Brownman Revival) and Joan visited us and even stayed overnight! Peter cooked pasta with classic Italian sauce, we listened to reggae music, chatted, watched “I Love You, Man” and drank alcohol/cocktails all night long.

It was another super fun, delightful and productive weekend for us! Teehee. ^_^

Our 10th Anniversary!

August 21, 2009

Wow! How time flies… It was actually flying so fast both Peter and I forgot that last August 14, 2009 was the day we’ve officially reached our tenth year as a couple.  Peter courted me in June 1999 and I said my sweet yes Aug. 14, 1999. Teehee. (Bawal na magpakipot. When you know that a person is THE ONE, you just know! Di na dapat patagalin! )  It’s a good thing though that we both forgot. Otherwise, I could be telling you a different slant to this story. Hehehe.

Anyway, on Aug. 15, we’ve already made plans with our gfs Ninette & Ces. After running some errands in the Metro, Peter and I managed to squeeze in a little quality time and had a simple dinner, just the two of us, at Recipes at The Fort.  It was quiet, it was fun… like the old times when it was just always the two of us. I love you baby! No matter what. ^_^

Afterwards, we met up with Ninette & Ces at Embassy Cuisine and drank the night away. She was so sweet she arranged a little treat for us both. Thanks dearie! You are soooo thoughtful! My two gfs spent the night at our place just chatting about boys, love and life. Another happy weekend for us. Yay!

So Many Acting Gigs! Thank God I Have the Time & Energy!

August 19, 2009

It all started last month… then I felt like it went full blast this August. I mean, for the past several weeks, I have been running around the Metro trying to attend all the VTRs and go sees that my agents ask me to go to. Yes, I said agents. And sometimes, out of the blue, people I don’t know also text me for auditions and stuff (like Aug. 24’s audition for Maalala Mo Kaya).  Now, I have several of them which I didn’t plan to do. It just happened and I am very grateful! It’s actually starting to feel like another full time job and I’m not complaining at all. I love my craft and I am grateful for the opportunities that came and are continuously coming my way. So even if sometimes I’d lack sleep, I really do my best to go to these VTRs. Coz I’ll never really know unless I try, right? Thank God for Vita Plus juice drink, I am more energetic than ever! I am no longer the sluggish, sedentary and lethargic Jen I used to be.  And because of that, the universe gives me more blessings to enjoy and pursue! Teehee! ^_^

I’m just lucky that for the past two weeks, I’ve had four shoots/tapings in all which were quite a feat for me. (Aug. 3 - Shoot for a fabric conditioner TV commercial where I was part of the acting extras and got Php15,000 pay after talent fee less 30% agent’s fee and Php500 for Ate Gigi who recommended me {I am generous that way, hehe}; Aug. 7 - a few hours’ shoot for Manny Pacquiao’s new commercial where I was part of the cheering crowd. TF was just Php1000  net pay after… not bad for a few hours of work; Aug. 10 - I got a reporter role at ABS-CBN’s Tayong Dalawa. TF was Php3000 net pay after; Aug. 12 - I had a continuity taping for Tayong Dalawa which is another Php3000 TF pay after.) All in all, that’s already extra income I earned in just less than four days of work. Not bad. Not bad at all. Teehee. I used the money, around P8500, for our front yard renovation and the rest, I’m setting aside for my driving lessons which I’m still not sure if I really want to do. Hehehe.  Anyway, I just wanted to share my experiences. For those who are interested to pursue acting, do let me know. I’m part of a theater group where my TV acting first kicked off. You may check my post about that for more details. ^_^

Here are some photos from my shoots:

August 3, 2009 - Fabric Conditioner TV Commercial… I was just part of the acting crowd… I pushed a cart and most probably it’ll just me my back that will be shown. Hahaha!

 ~~~oOo~~~
Aug. 7, 2009 - I was part of the crowd for the new Manny Pacquiao TV Commercial. I just don’t think I’ll show up in the final editing. There were too many of us and I was seated right at the corner in front of the camera.
~~~oOo~~~

Aug. 10 & 12, 2009 - Tayong Dalawa taping. I was an anchor/reporter. It will be shown this coming week (Aug. 24-28)!!! Watch out for it at ABS-CBN, channel 2, 9:00 - 10:00 pm weekdays.

This is me wearing my reporter costume.

Above is Kim Chiu chatting with Jodie Sta. Maria and Agot while waiting for a take and at the bottom right is Gerald Anderson being prepped for take.

Above is the “family portrait” during the wedding scene.

This is me with my makeshift mic. Hahaha!

   The talents waited for 12 hours before the taping finally started. Many of us were already sleeping on the pavement of the Fernwood Garden. Ganyan talaga buhay ng talents. All for the love of acting. Thank God they served good food… complete meals for more energy. ^_^

The Five Power Herbs of First Vita Plus

August 17, 2009

The First Vita Plus Juice Drink is made up of real vegetables and fruit and is a complete meal in itself. The World Health Organization advocates that people go back to vegetables because they can really do wonders to your health. Vegetables can cure diseases, make you resistant to illnesses, give you more power and strength, keep you healthy and looking young and make your body sexier too. I’ve been taking it everyday (preferably 7-9am in lukewarm water, 30 minutes before eating) since July 23 and I’ve never felt more alive, healthy & strong. I even lost a few pounds despite my pasta and ice cream binging. ^_^ I took a photo of myself this afternoon and wow, pumayat na nga ako! To think I’ve binging on pistachio ice cream and pasta dishes all weekend.

Important Note: Vita Plus made me lose weight but it did not make my boobs small. Hehehe.

 Here are the five power ingredients of Dr. Galvez Tan’s formulation:

Malunggay or Moringa Oleifera

Moringa Oleifera is planted throughout the Philippines in settled areas at low and medium altitudes.

Scientific research has proven that these humble leaves are in fact a powerhouse of nutritional value. It can rebuild weak bones, enrich anemic blood and nourish breastfed babies. Ounce per ounce, it has the calcium of four glasses of milk, the vitamin C of seven oranges and the potassium of three bananas.

Sili Leaves or Capsicum Frutescens

Capsicum frutescens is found throughout the Philippines plated here and there about dwellings but also thoroughly established in open, waste places in settles areas.

Its fruit is a popular condiment. The leaves are used as vegetable; an excellent source of calcium and iron, a good source of phosphorus and vitamins A and B.

It is an important gastrointestinal deoxidant and also serves as a stimulant, digestive, rubefacient, stomachic, sialagogue, alterative, antispasmodic, febrifugue and depurative.

Nutritional Value Pungent principle, capsaicin; solanine; vitamin A and B; citric acid; palmitic acid; capsicin; oleoresin; volatile and fixed oils; pentosans, 8.28%; pectin, 3.2%.

Saluyot or Corchorus Olitorius L.

Corchorus Olitorius is ever-present in clearings, farms and waste places in the Philippines.

Reported to be demulcent, deobstruent, diuretic, lactagogue, purgative and tonic, it may also be a remedy for aches and pains, dysentery, enteritis, fever and pectoral pains.

Nutritional Value
Per 100 g., the leaves are reported to contain 43-58 calories, 80.4-84.1 g h20, 4.5-5.6 g protein, 0.3 g fat, 7.6-12.4 g total carbohydrate , 1.7-2.0 g fiber, 2.4 g ash, 266-366 mg Ca, 97-122 mg P, 7.2-7.7 mg Fe, 12 mg Na, 444 mg K, 6410-7850 ug beta carotene equivalent, 0.13-0.15 mg thiamine, 0.26-0.53 mg riboflavin, 1.1-1.2 mg niacin and 53-80 ascorbic acid. Leaves contain oxydase and chlorogenic acid.

Uray or Pinoy Spinach or Amaranthus Spinosus

Amaranthus spinosus is found throughout the Philippines at lowlands and low altitudes.

It is a good expectorant and an effective astringent especially in stopping liquid bowels. Locally, it has been reported that a decoction of the root relieve one’s breathing from acute bronchitis.

Nutritional Value
The dried leaves contain (per 100g) 267 - 276 calories, 20 - 34.4% protein, 2 - 4.5% fat, 45 - 54% carbohydrate, 9.8 - 10.4% fibre, 16.6 - 24% ash, 1795 - 5333mg calcium, 333 - 460mg phosphorus, 13.5 - 152.7mg iron, 13 - 37mg sodium, 337 - 3528mg potassium, 27.9 - 40.8mg beta carotene equivalent, 0.06mg thiamine, 2.02mg riboflavin, 7.7 - 8.6mg niacin and 503mg ascorbic acid.

Talbos ng Kamote or Ipomoea Batatas

Ipomoea batatas is a warm season crop extensively cultivated in the Philippines. It can easily be planted any time of the year and propagated from stem cuttings.

Its roots are high in calories and vitamin A and the leafy tops are eaten as vegetables. The tops, especially purplish ones are used for diabetes and the crushed leaves are applied to boils and acne.

Nutritional Value
Ipomoea batatas contains calcium, 30; magnesium, 24; potassium, 373; sodium, 13; phosphorus, 49; chlorine, 85; sulphur, 26; and iron, 0.8 mg/100 g; iodine, 4.5 g/kg; magnanese, copper, and zinc are present in traces.

I have 4 flavors with me at home : Melon, Dalandan, Pineapple and Mango.  And they really do taste like the real fruit! If  I’m drinking the dalandan flavored one, it really tastes like freshly squeezed dalandan! This is because they added real fruit spray in the process of making the juice.  For slimming effect, I take just one glass a day, best between 7-9am, in lukewarm water, 30 minutes before breakfast. By doing so, I get 7X vitamins I get in oranges, 4X the vitamin A in carrots, 4X the calcium in milk, 2X the protein in milk, 3X the iron in spinach, 3X the potassium in bananas. If I drink it DURING OR AFTER MEALS, then I will get fat. So it’s really best to drink a glass at least 30 minutes before any meal.

Moreover, Vita Plus is approved by BFAD and US FDA so I can actually offer it to my family and friends abroad. Oh, and it also helps prevent a lot of diseases like:

Diabetes, Anemia, Heart Disease, Leukemia, Colon Cancer, Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Asthma,  Cough, Colds, Fever, Constipation, UTI, Insomnia, High Blood, Goiter, Kidney Stones, Tumor, Dysmenorrhea,  Diarrhea, Arthritis, , Ulcer, Dyspepsia, Pasma, Almoranas. ^_^

Check the story behind this photo.

In my many years of experimenting with a lot of different slimming & health products (Herbalife, Ripped & Extreme capsules, Kankunis, C-lium, etc.), this is the first time I’ve experienced this healthy and light  feeling.I look younger too unlike before when I’d be thin but ‘d look older and ngarag. So I’m really thankful to Vita Plus! Cheers!!! If you wanna try it out for yourself, just text me for orders (0918-9270850). It’s only Php35.00 per sachet. :-) )
