Resorts World Manila’s Red Carpet Event

June 30, 2009

I went to Resorts World Manila’s Casino Royale Red Carpet event last June 26, 2009.  Yes, I went sashaying at a real red carpet event and it was so exciting! Of course, none of this would have been possible had Jonas and Rizal not invited me and especially if Jayvee hadn’t picked me up  from home that day. Hugs to Jayvee! Like Rizal said, you are a good man, dude. And I totally agree! Thanks so much!  Coz it would have been so hard for me to commute all the way to the meeting place, then change my attire from street wear to Hollywood glam. Which is exactly what I would have done if the universe did not decide to make my life a lot easier that day. So to the universe, thank you!  I truly appreciate it. Teehee.

Jayvee & I arrived at the Star Cruises building in Newport Manila at around 8pm. The moment we entered the red carpet, strikingly gorgeous ushers and usherettes welcomed us as well as blinding flashes from event photographers. We felt so special. This was my second time to attend a Resorts World Manila event and by this time, I pretty much figured that they truly try to live up to their  6-star resort standards by treating each guest with utmost hospitality that I wished I live there every single day. ^_^

There were other bloggers by then and we of course mingled with those we know. I saw Janette Toral and off we went talking about a Wiccan project. Liz joined us after a little while as we chatted about vanity and stuff. We then met Jane in person  popularly known as betweenbites online. She was with her BF Chris and they were both so pleasant, pretty and nice.  More photo ops followed and at around 9 PM, the event started with a grand introduction before we were ushered to the 2nd floor where games, fun and prizes awaited us all.

I again played baccarat and roulette. Never mind that I was losing sometimes. It was fun and I was learning something new. Pica-pica, softdrinks and wine kept on coming that in a few minutes I was already betting more than I had to and my level of enjoyment was increasing by the minute. *hic!*

When I was on my second game, Peter suddenly arrived from work. Hurray! We were all so happy he was able to make it. And as I expected, he placed in the overall tournament and won a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Hurray!

Earlier on, while the tournament was still going on, I went near the slot machines and chatted with Liz. Pretty soon, I was rummaging through her bag, looking at her make up and other beauty stuff. Liz’s blog recently got me so interested in trying out new make up again. I used to do that back in college when I tried all sorts of make up & beauty products (Cover Girl, Maybelline, Max Factor, etc. ) only to have my face breakout. So since then, I never  tried any other brand and just stuck with one that works.

Anyhoo, while Liz and I were playing with her numerous make up, I heard my name suddenly called. Apparently, I won something. Then it suddenly dawned on me that I was being given the title Queen of the Night! Woah! I was handed a huge and heavy gift box then a bouquet of roses followed. Wow! I was giddy as a kid!

Marcelle won the King of the Night title and more photo ops and an interview followed. It truly seemed so Hollywood to me. Teehee.

The night capped off with a lot of laughter and cheers. Peter and I agreed to have late dinner with Liz and Fritz  near Liz’s place in Makati, a place called Alley Gator. Hehehe. The food was inexpensive and surprisingly delicious. Then we finally headed home at around 2:30 am.

When we got home, Peter excitedly opened my gift box as I was inside the bathroom. I guess he got excited by it coz he hurriedly went to my bathroom and showed me my gift. it was a very cute, uniquely wedge shaped, Sony DVD player. Woohoo!
