I’ve always been a member of Entablado Pilipino. I first discovered this Theater Group/Talent Agency with my co-actor Tin after we graduated from ABS-CBN’s acting workshop in 2003. And since then, I have been attending the workshops which eventually led to my being cast in bit and semi-regular roles in various TV soaps and commercials. See old photos below as I reminisce these wonderful memories… indulge me some more as I share with you my experiences. As far as I can remember, here are the stuff I did in relation to this passion of mine:

Those were my happy days! They eventually ended when office work became my priority which left me with no more time and energy to indulge in these little but equally physically tiring passions of mine. Acting, after all, is 10% acting and 90% waiting. It entails rigorous hours of going to the location, rehearsing one’s lines and waiting for one’s turn on the spotlight. Then, more waiting. This was also why I had the time to pursue my masters and spa business at that time. But like I said, when office work came into the picture, I slowly bid goodbye to my little indulgences. But now that I am back at home, working as a freelance VA, I more or less have a handle on my time. I figured this is the best opportunity to go back to doing acting workshops, just to see if I still have it in me.
***There were just a few of us last Sunday. Nevertheless, it’s still business as usual.***
Entablado Pilipino now has a new director, Tina Zeny Sevilla, a great actor herself who has been with the company for many years now. She has done a lot of theatricals plays, TV soaps and commercials and is really great at what she does. She was the one who contacted me after many years, asking if I would still want to join the company. Thanks to Kuya Bob, another theater, TV & commercial actor, Tita Zeny got my message that yes, I am still very much interested. So after several Sundays of foregoing the opportunity due to my other commitments the past few months, I was finally able to go last Sunday. The new venue is at the penthouse, F.R. Sevilla Bldg., Arty2 Rd., Mindanao Ave. QC. For those who are interested, acting workshops are every Sunday at 1-5pm. There’s a fee of P300 per session or P2000 for ten sessions. One must complete these sessions in order to graduate and become lifetime members of the company. This will also entitle them to audition for roles in plays, TV commercials and soaps. Exciting, isn’t it? Actually, just yesterday, I was scheduled to go to an audition in Makati. They didn’t tell us what it would be for. When I got there, that’s when I found out that I’d be auditioning for a travel show host. Sooo perfect for me! I think I did pretty good. I hope I get a call back on August once all auditions are over. *Crossing my fingers on that*
***At around 3pm, scripts were distributed and we were all busy rehearsing our lines. Too bad Peter left after that. He didn’t get to take a photo of me while I was doing my part.***
It was such a delight to see new and familiar fIaces! And when acting time came, after years of no practice at all, Tita Zeny told me that I still have it! “Wala ka pa ring kupas, Jen!” I was very proud of myself! I think I was going to cry. Speaking of crying, I can’t wait to attend more sessions. I want to learn more and I want to know how to cry. Believe it or not, a crybaby that I am, I really can’t seem to let my tears flow when it comes to acting. James, one of my co-actors who frequent the local TV primetime soaps in ABS-CBN and GMA, advised us all that drinking plenty of water, having enough rest and internalizing your role help shed out tears more easily. I will do that. I will learn how to cry. Care to join me next time? Let me know! If you want to join, just text me at 0918-9270850.
Trying hard ako maging overachiever. Hehehe. Dami ko gusto gawin!
Yup, Te Amo with Iza. But they were located near the beach in Ternate Cavite. We only went there when it’s pack up and dinner time. Sa may quarry naman ang location ng scenes namin with sila Jennifer Sevilla, Johnny Delgado, Tonton Gutierrez, Kier Legazpi, etc.
wow such a long list of achievements and more to come im sure.
you look astonishing in that red gown!!!
btw, u back to being a va?
Posted by eRLyn at June 18, 2009, 12:52 pmTime to go back to acting! Why do i have a feeling i’ll see you in an indie film soon?
Hi erlyn! hi mica! Thanks for the vote of confidence ha?!
Erlyn, I’m a freelance VA right now so I have more control of my time.
Mica, magdilang anghel ka nawa!
jen! pagiskat na sikat ka na huwag mo kaming kakalimutan ah! hehehe
Koryn! Magdilang anghel ka nawa! And of course I’ll always be the same quirky and fun-loving person you know. Kahit yata gustuhin ko, ganito na talaga ko, di na ko magbabago. Hehehe.
Correct gurls! Kahit gustuhin nya magbago, she is still the same bubbly and very down to earth person I have ever met. May iba kasi na konting popularity lang or exposures, ang laki na ng ulo. But Jen is always been the same. Very caring pa yan sa mga friends nya. I can still remember, when we we’re in ABS-CBN Talent Center 2003, they will dropped me at Tayuman (she and her hubby) before heading home at Antipolo. I have a good hearted friends, I may say Jen is of of them. Natuloy pala yung sa Entablado Pilipino mo. Join ako!
Thanks gurl, hndi mo ako nakalimutan. Marami pako ibbigay sayo, if you want to join sa Indie Film, advise kita if may audition. Miss you gurl!
Congratulations on your achievements! More power!

hi, i’ve stumbled upon your blog, and the photos awed me, especially the old picture with tito rusty sanggalang. He is dearly missed. Good to see EP growing even better. I would like to ask if you may know the second girl seated from the left (wearing white spag strap). The picture was taken on one of the Sunday workshops. She used to be my batchmate at EP. Hope I can get her contact info or email.
Thanks and more power!
