Advanced All-in-One Celebration at La Mesa Eco Park

May 7, 2009

Peter and I predicted that we’re going to be busy the weekend of Mother’s Day and the next several weekends after that so we figured why not spend an entire Sunday with my family and celebrate everything instead including birthdays? My baby nephew Dominic will be having his first birthday on the 17th and we’re  not sure if we can come. On June 9, my mom will  be celebrating her birthday and there’s a possibility that we might not be able to make it too (reasons being work, online projects and just recently, my Publicis training which I really, really want to pass).

So anyway, last May 3, we treated our family to an excursion at La Mesa Eco Park and simply had a grand time.  Upon entrance, we rode the famous e-jeep all the way to the picnic grounds. Take note: Alcoholic beverages are not allowed inside the park so… be resourceful. We were! Teehee. ^_^

Free e-jeepney ride!

La Mesa Eco park offers several amenities perfect for families, large group of friends and company outings. They offer biking (Php50-80 per hour), boating (Max. They have pavillions where you can  attend mass  and hold large meetings. They have an Eco Center where you can learn more about the park. They have an Orchidarium, a Butterfly Trail & Hatchery, Flower Terraces (which serve as the wall of the reservoir), Amphitheater, Paintball Field,  Fitness Trail (where you can enjoy a full-body workout in its 17 exercise stations which connect to a forested 1.2 km mountain bike trail), souvenir shops and a lot more!

This climb up the terraces is not suitable for smokers. Hehehe.

I wanna ride the horse carriage next time!

The rest of the five-hectare land serves as picnic spots where you can just laze around on your picnic mats and tents. You may also use their free concrete tables and chairs scattered around the park or rent a plastic set (1 table and 4 chairs) for only Php120. If you come early, you might just be able to rent an open cottage for Php500 coz they run out pretty fast especially on weekends. As for us, we came in at around 10AM on May 3 so we were left with the tables and chairs.

The Flower Terraces serve as the dam wall of the reservoir.

A very relaxing walk at the Orchidarium

You can set up a tent or picnic mat at the Amphitheater.

At around 3pm, it was getting pretty hot and my nephew was getting restless so we decided to come home for a while and dress up for a little celebratory dinner afterwards with my family. We went to Ever Gotesco  along Commonwealth to buy two birthday cakes at Goldilocks, one for my Mom and one for DM. Then we headed to Chicken Bacolod to cap the day off. ^_^
