Travelogue XXX: Boracay (Un)Holy Week Series Day 3 (March 22, 2008)

April 11, 2008

It was a beautiful summer day and thank God there’s already a steady supply of water in Panoly. Everything was going perfectly well.

We were able to enjoy the beach scenery as we waited for the boat that will take us island hopping with our friends that day. The weather was warm, breezy and sunny. And the water was calm…

…calm the first few kilometers off shore while we were on the way to Puka beach, our first stop.

It was around 12 noon and we were all starving…

So after a major photo op, we all rushed to one of the restos the island has to offer. To tell you the truth, there were many of them now as compared to the last time we went here which was last 2005 I think… There were also a lot of vendors selling clothes and accessories… It lost its “paradise” feel to it. Puka beach is not as “virgin’ as it used to be. Tsk, tsk.

After lunch, off we went to crocodile island for some snorkeling action…

I thought it was just going to be a short ride but man, it took us almost an hour to go there from Puka beach. And the waves were so crazy! The boat was rocking wildly and I really thought I was going to have a heart attack. I swear, I thought the boat was going to capsize! Or was it just me? Everybody else seemed to be so calm while I was busy figuring out how to wear my life jacket. Gosh! I swear, I’ll never go island hopping again. Maybe it was brought about by the fact that I almost drowned in La Union last December when we went surfing. Whatever! It just isn’t worth doing this again especially when the water can be so rough.

But I’m glad the rest of the troop had fun snorkeling.

Afterwards, we went to Crytal Cove for our last stop. Since it was only John who hasn’t been inside yet, he went ahead and explored the caves while the rest of us stayed outside nd explored the beach instead.

We even found a cave we can explore…

Then it was time to go back. The moment we hit the Panoly beach, we still had a couple of minutes to burn before preparing for that night’s party hopping.  Abba, Chris and Peter had a bit of frisbee action… as I watched the sunset over the horizon… Ahhh…c’est la vie!
