We all know how the day of hearts can get so commercialized, pressuring all lovers out there (especially the guys) to make this moment the most romantic and unforgettable day. Although Peter did his best in the past to make it special for me, knowing his Cancerian nature, he’d rather have it sans the pressure and stress it would definitely entail. This is because I can be so hard to please and so insensitve sometimes. But with my age (I’m turning 30 in 4 days), I think I’ve grown more mature and considerate of his feelings. Peter, after all, made most of my dreams come true and I would like to return the favor as much as I can. So without him knowing it, I made last weekend (Feb. 9-10) our official Valentine’s celebration. Thanks to Popsy’s winnings in the Casino last year, we were able to afford another membership at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza and it’s only last weekend that we availed of the free 1 night accommodation.
We were supposed to get a superior room. But because of some delay in the booking process, and the 2nd front desk officer who took care of my needs seemed to have noticed how impatient and disappointed I was getting, she upgraded our room to deluxe at no extra cost! Woohoo! Patience is indeed a virtue. Though I was getting impatient like I said, I didn’t make a scene. I was just standing quietly in the reception area and smiling at the front desk officer every time she apologized, even if my blood was already boiling of frustration. It paid off! Hehehe.
