Eureka!

December 5, 2007

I have started with a new set of mantras since our Boracay weekend. Three mantras to be precise. They are as follows:

“All good things are coming to me. Money is easy and comes frequently.”

“ I am my perfect weight and my perfect body.”

“ I am the owner of a series of condo rental units and the Sexy Nomad’s Hot Travel Essentials Shop.”

I learned to do these mantras from The Secret, an amazing book by Rhonda Byrnes. Before, I used to write a "bookworm post" for every book I finish reading. Now, I plan to share with you my personal experiences to show how The Secret works.

Ok, to give you a brief background, it actually summarizes all the teachings I have learned from Stephen Covey (8th Habit), Andrew Matthews (Being Happy), Chin Ning Chu (Thick Face, Black Heart), Paolo Coelho (The Alchemist) and the Holy Bible and all those other self-help books I’ve read at one point or another. Simply put:

“You attract what you think.” — Being Happy

“Seek and ye shall find.” — Holy Bible

“If it’s for you, the whole universe will conspire in order for you to get it” — The Alchemist

“Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs.” — 8th Habit

Christmas Wish List Part III… Check!

December 3, 2007

It's 22 days before Christmas! I haven't done my "official" Christmas shopping yet (if there is really such a thing). I just shop when inspiration strikes. Like when I acquired my Christmas Wish List # 1 and # 2. I believe that I have everything I want and need. The rest are bonuses that come along the way…

Like my new phone. It's small, it's awesome and it's free! It came with my Smart Plan and I am sooo loving it! It was time to renew my contract with Smart. I had it downgraded from Plan 3500 to plan 1200 to save a bit.  Well, not only am I able to save now, my phone is just so great! It has everything I need — call, text, video calls and conference, internet, bluetooth, recorder, FM station, TV subscription, media player, etc. It's not a PDA phone but that's alright. I already have my O2 XDA IIs and my King Long Chinese pocket PDA phone (which I'm thinking of selling, actually). I'm just so glad that even while we were in Boracay last weekend, I was still able to surf the net. Coz it doesn't just have 3G capabilities but 3.5G. Internet surfing was so fast! The Smart agent told me that it's a higher version of the Nokia N70 series. Awesome! Here are its full key features:

Surf the web and download music and videos quickly over the high speed 3G or HSDPA* connection
Keep on top of your busy life by sending or receiving email with attachments
Catch all the action on the video recorder
Take photos on the 2 megapixel camera with flash and panorama imaging
Share more of your life by making video calls
Store music, videos, and pictures with up to 2 GB of expandable memory
Get organized with the practical calendar and convenient PC synchronization
Relax and unwind as you listen to your favorite tunes on the music player
Sophisticated, classic design with chromed highlights

Back in Bora, my sister lent me her book, The Secret. I read it and it got me so hooked. When we got back here in Manila, the first thing we did was head to National Bookstore and buy myself a copy. We also saw that Mitch Albom's new book is out, For One More Day, so we bought a copy too.

I also got these cool bags perfect for my travels. The colorful one was bought from the Tagaytay Ukay-Ukay shop. It's made of suede-like material and it's new! The black one, I got last night. After we arrived from Boracay, we headed to SM South Mall in Las Pinas and checked out some really cool stuff on sale.  It was our first time there and we discovered that on the 3rd floor near the cinemas, they have a wing there called Divi Park where they sell clothes, shoes and accessories at Divisoria prices! Fantastic!

Lastly,  Kirin-Kirin on the first level of SM Southmall were selling pretty blouses for only P150 a  piece. So I bought 4 plus the ones in Divi Park at P100 a piece.  Best buys ever!
