I was taking my time this afternoon in my room (I took a leave), packing for our tomorrow’s trip, when I suddenly felt melancholic about Boracay. It’s been a year since we were last there…. I remember our very first time in Bora — we won a trip back in 2004! It all started when Peter and I attended a wedding gallery affair and we joined this raffle thing. A couple of days after, someone called us. Apparently, we were asked to attend a time-sharing seminar, with no obligation to buy and if we finish the whole 90-minute presentation, we’ll get a free 3days/2nights trip to Boracay. And we did! Our very first trip to Bora was free! I mean the accommodation was free and we traveled all the way there via multi-transpo (Revo to batangas pier, Roro to Calapan port, Van to Dangay Port, Roro to Caticlan Port, Boat to Station 2, tricycle to Club Panoly. Exciting, huh? Not! Ok, a little…).
But after a few more hours of convincing us, we finally gave in and bought a ten-year membership contract at P145,000 with a yearly levy fee of almost P10,000 until year 2014. That’s P245,000 worth of membership!!! And that’s how we became members of Club Panoly. We were indeed lucky. This secluded resort is away from the busy beaches of stations 1,2 and 3. I actually wanted to get married there (although now, I’m not sure again if I indeed wanna have a second wedding due to rising expenses… but that’s another story).
Back then, we kept telling ourselves "This is the life! C’est la vie!" I thought Puerto Galera (which is my first love) was enough. But when I stepped on Boracay’s white sand and frolicked in its turquoise seas, I madly fell in love with it. Every centavo spent on this luxury membership was worth it. And it still is.
We experienced a lot of FIRSTS on this exotic paradise…
The first time we went kayaking… See that small wave behind us? We didn’t see it coming (obviously, we were excited to have our picture taken!). Right after this shot, the boat toppled and I got a huge bloody scratch on my left thigh. It was painful but I was proud of that particular wound. Hehehe.
Our very first (and only so far) FREE banana boat ride. We needed to ride this thing on the way to get the jet ski in the middle of the sea. So that’s around 10 minutes free banana boat ride. Not bad!
Our first time jet skiing… You think I was having fun?! I was scared! It was so hard to control the wheel. After five minutes, my arms felt like lead!
Peter had a better experience with it.. Thanks to his muscled arms. Naks!
In order to thoroughly enjoy it, I had a ride with our macho and cute boat man. Hehehe.
