Spontaneous Gimmicks

November 24, 2007

Lately, Ive been feeling scared of commuting alone. You see, from work, I hail a jeep going to Mall of Asia. From there, I ride a van that plies the Alabang-Zapote route. If I’m lucky, I go down at North Gate and wait for a tricycle to bring me all the way to our village. If I’m unlucky, I go down at SM Southmall in Las Pinas and hail another fx or jeep going to North Gate. Tiring, huh? To think I own a new cool car and this is what I do. Yeah, it sucks not knowing how to drive — yet (Peter started teaching me this afternoon, hehe) .

Anyway, I’ve been getting this feeling that I might be robbed or something terrible. So the past few days, I decided to just stay at MOA and wait for Peter to pick me up. It’s just that my work ends at 5pm and I always end up shopping more than  I can handle (I just got my bill for my Visa Card amounting to almost Php70k! Golly!). While he usually gets off work between 7-9pm. Yeah, his work schedule sucks too to think that one of the reasons why he took the job in the first place is coz he was promised that eventually, he could do his job from home and work online most of the time. But after more than 2 years, it’s like he’s already living in his office, he’s always sick and tired, he’s not the same jolly Peter anymore (Buti sana if he’s paid like 100k a month, hehehe, I’ll keep all the money and make him jolly instead with my kinky what have yous, hehehe.)!  Anyway, that is not the point of this blog entry.

Moving on, it’s a good thing that last Wednesday, my friend Migs invited me to watch a movie at MOA. Cool! We’ve been planning to watch this gory flick 30 Days of Night for so long and now that we decided to finally go see it,  it wasn’t showing anymore. So we ended up watching the Boogeyman instead. According to Migs, it’s nothing compared to 30 Days. But for me… my goodness! I was going to have a heart attack already! I couldn’t look  at the screen, I didn’t know where to face my head, I was so agitated, I kept shouting cuss words (bleep! bleep! bleep!) here and there and Migs was laughing at me like crazy, even after the movie was finished! Darn it! Hahahaha! But I must admit, it was fun! She saw a side of me that rarely shows in the office. Mwehehe. The movie is about this  bunch of students suffering from various psychoses. They enrolled themselves in this mental facility for several days. It’s like a hostel of some sort and they get to live there 24/7. Until weird gory stuff started to happen attributed to the boogeyman. But of course, their doctor wouldn’t believe them. One by one each patient dies a tragic death unique to his/her own psychosis. A neat freak dies by drinking a strong detergent solution, a cutter dies by being cut into pieces, an anorexic dies by being intubated in her veins all throughout her body as these tubes are poured with body fats until she explodes…Really  eeewwwww!!!! At least afterwards, I was already ok. Unlike with 30 Days which according to Migs, you’ll really bring your fright on your way home and even beyond. Thank God!

The next day, I was again bitten by the "takot-sa–holdaper" bug. So I again spent time at the cinema while waiting for Peter. I got to watch Enchanted which I found sooooooooo inspiring… in a fairytale sort of way. For some reason, it warmed my heart and soul making me feel good about life in general. It’s so fantastic! They were able to blend all the significant elements of famous fairytales like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid, etc. Sweet sigh. I have to watch this again, I said to myself. Patrick Dempsey is sooooo damned cute and sexy that I want to marry him!!!! And Amy Adams portrayed the role of Giselle so perfectly! She did seem like a cartoon princess right out of Disneyland! *Sweet*

Then Peter texted and said he’s still at work (what’s new?). So I watched another movie… Nanny Diaries. OOOhhhhhh…. such a tearjerker! I think I was sneezing and wiping my tears all throughout the entire film. They attacked the story (it has a book authored by Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin, which I want to buy) it in a unique way, sort of like a POST CARD kind of approach. You have to watch it to get what I mean.  Although I think Scarlett Johansson lacked a bit of acting in this movie, I didn’t mind. The screen play is just awesometastic!

I’ve been bitten again by another bug. The couch potato bug. Even if we get home pretty late, we still manage to finish the first half of Heroes Season II. We even got to watch No Reservations. My, my… Is this what our married life turned out to be? Hehehe. I’m not complaining. But I know someone who does! Hahahaha!

And yesterday, Friday, we didn’t schedule any formal gimmick or date. It just so happened that my friends from MDP Alex and Michelle invited me for coffee and movie. So we ended up hanging out at Starbucks branch of Harbour Square near CCP Complex. I had Pink Guava Shake and Banoffee which served as my dinner already. We talked about the reorganization happening in the office and how "magulo" and "sabog" everything is especially in the Operations Sector. And of course, our President doesn’t know what’s really happening coz his management won’t tell him how badly affected our members are who are caught in the midst of all this. Hay naku! So to make us feel better, I watched Enchanted again, this time, with Michelle. Dreamy sigh….

Anyway, it’s Saturday now and the  things I scheduled to do didn’t really happen. We were supposed to jog at 5 in the morning, have breakfast, study driving, study French, read my books, do more xmas decors and watch DVDs. It turned out, we woke up at 11am, had brunch instead, studied driving for an hour and blogged. After this, I’ll do the xmas decors and prepare for our date with Mer at Mall of Asia. My bestest friend is leaving for CDO next week and I’ll  truly miss her.  Enjoy your weekend folks! Tomorrow, we’re off to Tagaytay to shop for some more cheap xmas stuff. I’ll be blogging about Part 3 of our wake boarding trip too. Ciao for now!

Cheska, See yah tom!

Sarah, have you watched it na? How was it?

Liz, I am soooo scared. I’ve been mugged twice! The second one was more action-packed. I chased my phone napper until he went into a dark alley when I realized it’s just a phone. When I went to the police station, the policeman said that it’s a good thing I didn’t follow the guy. Or else, I wouldn’t have gotten out of that alley alive. Ooooohhhhhh…
