Travelogue XXVI: Reminiscing Bora

November 29, 2007

I was taking my time this afternoon  in my room (I took a leave), packing for our tomorrow’s trip, when I suddenly felt melancholic about Boracay. It’s been a year since we were last there….  I remember our very first time in Bora — we won a trip back in 2004! It all started when Peter and I attended a wedding gallery affair and we joined this raffle thing. A couple of days after, someone called us. Apparently, we were asked to attend a time-sharing seminar, with no obligation to buy and if we finish the whole 90-minute presentation, we’ll get a free 3days/2nights trip to Boracay. And we did! Our very first trip to Bora was free! I mean the accommodation was free and we traveled all the way there via multi-transpo (Revo to batangas pier, Roro to Calapan port, Van to Dangay Port, Roro to Caticlan Port, Boat to Station 2, tricycle to Club Panoly. Exciting, huh? Not! Ok, a little…).

But after a few more hours of convincing us, we finally gave in and bought a ten-year membership contract at P145,000 with a yearly levy fee of almost P10,000 until year 2014. That’s P245,000 worth of membership!!! And that’s how we became members of Club Panoly.  We were indeed lucky. This secluded resort is away from the busy beaches of stations 1,2 and 3.  I actually wanted to get married there (although now, I’m not sure again if I indeed wanna have a second wedding due to rising expenses… but that’s another story).

Back then, we kept telling ourselves "This is the life! C’est la vie!" I thought Puerto Galera (which is my first love) was enough. But when I stepped on Boracay’s white sand and frolicked in its turquoise seas, I madly fell in love with it. Every centavo spent on this luxury membership was worth it. And it still is.

We experienced a lot of FIRSTS on this exotic paradise…

The first time we went kayaking… See that small wave behind us? We didn’t see it coming (obviously, we were excited to have our picture taken!). Right after this shot, the boat toppled and I got a huge bloody scratch on my left thigh. It was painful but I was proud of that particular  wound. Hehehe.

Our very first (and only so far) FREE banana boat ride. We needed to ride this thing on the way to get the jet ski in the middle of the sea. So that’s around 10 minutes free banana boat ride. Not bad!

Our first time jet skiing… You think I was having fun?! I was scared! It was so hard to control the wheel. After five minutes, my arms felt like lead!

Peter had a better experience with it.. Thanks to his muscled arms. Naks!

In order to thoroughly enjoy it, I had a ride with our macho and cute boat man. Hehehe.

Travelogue XXV: Wake Boarding Trip Part III

November 26, 2007

Hi Folks! This is a continuation from the wake boarding trip we had last Nov. 17-18, 2007. Check it out here and here to complete the entire travelogue. Enjoy!

                                                     This is me knee boarding…

The next morning, we woke up early and ordered some breakfast. I tried using their wi-fi services and luckily my laptop got a connection, however slow. Our morning was uneventful. I frolicked in their swimming pool and contemplated whether I’ll wake board again or not. My arms were still killing me from yesterday’s short session. Until I was able to psyche myself and off we went to the station. We were the first ones there. The water was so calm and I was the first customer for that morning. And guess what? I completed one whole round!!! Woooohhhooooo!!!! I did it twice and by then my arms felt like they were made of lead. I tried one more time, only to fall off as soon as my wire got hooked. I was already dead tired.  Upper body strength is indeed needed for this kind of activity. Next time!

This is Peachie, doing an excellent job at knee boarding….

Check-out was supposed to be at 11am and I was able to ask for an extension until 12nn. Peter tried doing it standing up but he was only able to run a few meters from the station. Maybe if we do this more regularly (like every other weekend we’re not some place else, we can master this sport in no time at all).

Going home was a lot fun too! We dropped by Amira’s Buko Tart Haus and ordered several delicacies for pasalubong.

We then headed to Josephine’s hoping that they serve ala carte menu for lunch. They do! Yay! We ordered beef and Chicken Pochero (Peter’s favorite but he seldom orders it), Grilled Seafood platter, Baked mussels, Grilled Beef Spare Ribs, Iced Tea, and Quencher (Lime, Orange, Mango, Pineapple shake). Afterwards, we went outside and had coffee, Tiramisu Cake and Coffee Sansrival. Total food trip!!! All the calories we burnt wake boarding? We again gained plus more! Hahaha!

Free 2 Nights Stay at Boracay!

November 24, 2007

I know this is late but…. anybody interested to get our FREE extra room at Club Panoly, Boracay? We’re going there on November 30-Dec.2, 2007. That’s next weekend already!!!  We’ll be staying in a suite and we got a deluxe room to supposedly bring our parents with us. But due to budget constraints and other issues, the room will be vacant. Being Silver members of Club Panoly, everything is already paid for for until year 2014. We usually sell the rooms but this time, since it’s so close to the date, we’ll be giving it to anyone who can get to Bora on those dates. So, anyone interested?

Spontaneous Gimmicks

Lately, Ive been feeling scared of commuting alone. You see, from work, I hail a jeep going to Mall of Asia. From there, I ride a van that plies the Alabang-Zapote route. If I’m lucky, I go down at North Gate and wait for a tricycle to bring me all the way to our village. If I’m unlucky, I go down at SM Southmall in Las Pinas and hail another fx or jeep going to North Gate. Tiring, huh? To think I own a new cool car and this is what I do. Yeah, it sucks not knowing how to drive — yet (Peter started teaching me this afternoon, hehe) .

Anyway, I’ve been getting this feeling that I might be robbed or something terrible. So the past few days, I decided to just stay at MOA and wait for Peter to pick me up. It’s just that my work ends at 5pm and I always end up shopping more than  I can handle (I just got my bill for my Visa Card amounting to almost Php70k! Golly!). While he usually gets off work between 7-9pm. Yeah, his work schedule sucks too to think that one of the reasons why he took the job in the first place is coz he was promised that eventually, he could do his job from home and work online most of the time. But after more than 2 years, it’s like he’s already living in his office, he’s always sick and tired, he’s not the same jolly Peter anymore (Buti sana if he’s paid like 100k a month, hehehe, I’ll keep all the money and make him jolly instead with my kinky what have yous, hehehe.)!  Anyway, that is not the point of this blog entry.

Moving on, it’s a good thing that last Wednesday, my friend Migs invited me to watch a movie at MOA. Cool! We’ve been planning to watch this gory flick 30 Days of Night for so long and now that we decided to finally go see it,  it wasn’t showing anymore. So we ended up watching the Boogeyman instead. According to Migs, it’s nothing compared to 30 Days. But for me… my goodness! I was going to have a heart attack already! I couldn’t look  at the screen, I didn’t know where to face my head, I was so agitated, I kept shouting cuss words (bleep! bleep! bleep!) here and there and Migs was laughing at me like crazy, even after the movie was finished! Darn it! Hahahaha! But I must admit, it was fun! She saw a side of me that rarely shows in the office. Mwehehe. The movie is about this  bunch of students suffering from various psychoses. They enrolled themselves in this mental facility for several days. It’s like a hostel of some sort and they get to live there 24/7. Until weird gory stuff started to happen attributed to the boogeyman. But of course, their doctor wouldn’t believe them. One by one each patient dies a tragic death unique to his/her own psychosis. A neat freak dies by drinking a strong detergent solution, a cutter dies by being cut into pieces, an anorexic dies by being intubated in her veins all throughout her body as these tubes are poured with body fats until she explodes…Really  eeewwwww!!!! At least afterwards, I was already ok. Unlike with 30 Days which according to Migs, you’ll really bring your fright on your way home and even beyond. Thank God!

The next day, I was again bitten by the "takot-sa–holdaper" bug. So I again spent time at the cinema while waiting for Peter. I got to watch Enchanted which I found sooooooooo inspiring… in a fairytale sort of way. For some reason, it warmed my heart and soul making me feel good about life in general. It’s so fantastic! They were able to blend all the significant elements of famous fairytales like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid, etc. Sweet sigh. I have to watch this again, I said to myself. Patrick Dempsey is sooooo damned cute and sexy that I want to marry him!!!! And Amy Adams portrayed the role of Giselle so perfectly! She did seem like a cartoon princess right out of Disneyland! *Sweet*

Tarot 102: The Knight of Wands

November 21, 2007

This card suggests that my power today lies in rising to the occasion. I keep my options open and am ready to "use it or lose it." I set trends or may be considered a "fashionista" and I initiate exciting opportunities to get attention, conquer fears, enhance reputation or image, or to express or inspire liberation-often by extreme measures. I am empowered by ambition or the "zest in quest" and I transform through charismatic communication of passion."

> Astrology Today

Hmmm… indeed, I do feel more open today. Some people are confirming the things I'm hearing that I will be promoted. But I don't wanna hold on to it until I see the official document that says so. If it does happen, I know I'll do my best in doing my tasks like I always do. If it proves to be just hearsay, I'd gladly go back to doing my old job. What else did it say? Me, fashionista? Me, promoter of exciting activities? Me, passionate about  my plans? Hmmmm… What do you think? Need I say more?
