Last Weekend’s Update: Fun with Friends & a Stranger

October 6, 2007

Yes, despite my hectic schedule at work, I still have a life, thank you. I just couldn’t blog as often and as immediately as I wanted to coz as you all know, blogging takes time … precious hours that I couldn’t afford lately. Anyway, two Fridays ago, Sept. 28, 2007, Michelle, Peter, Peachie  and I met up at Metrowalk to supposedly celebrate the start of Oktoberfest. Unfortunately, when we got there, we noticed several policemen with rifles, sub-machine guns and other deadly weapons and we thought “What the f–k?!”  Plus there were several Jologs already milling about. Not that I’m not jologs myself sometimes, but those guys were couldn’t-wait-to-go-the-the-mosh-pit-and-bang-each-other’s-heads-off type of Jologs. So in short, we changed plans. We still stayed within the vicinity and decided to have dinner instead. We were looking for Mario’s Kitchen. Unfortunately, it no longer exists and in its place stood Opus Resto Bar. It’s a well-lighted resto at the first half of the night and when 9pm strikes, it dims down its bright lights, turns on the disco ball and turns up the music really loud. We were there from 7pm to 12 mn, I think. The food we ate were still as delicious as the ones served at Mario’s Kitchen before, if not better. And they have huge servings too! Yumyum. Then we found out that it’s still managed by the same people as Mario’s Kitchen, they just repackaged it. Nice.

Anyway, aside from the usual bonding, something happened which I didn’t expect at all…

View My Desktop

October 5, 2007

I got tagged by Honney last September 24, 2007 (yeah, it’s been so long, I know). I’m currently cleaning up unwanted files on my desktop so I can upload SIMs, hehehe. So what I have are just basic stuff for my pictures, videos, music and other files. I love the look of my desktop though. You’d see my Yaris in the middle which we parked in front of the house yesterday before going to work.  I named it Zacky after Zach Efron (my current crush after watching Hairspray., hehehe). We used it for the first time yesterday and he was so awesome! Speedy, zippy and comfy to ride! Woohoo! Plus, we looked cute too! Hehehe… vain! I still haven’t had the time to learn how to drive, though. Soon, I hope!

Now I’m tagging John, Marc and Trish! Show us your desktops! :-)

Again, I’m Busy

October 4, 2007

For those who have been wondering why I'm keeping mum the past few weeks, it's not because I want to. Definitely not. Blogging is actually one of those things I look forward to at the end of the day. But reality is, after the training we had for the last 6 months, we, the 39 candidates, are now being "USED" by the System. After they have spent P2 Million for the entire program, they're like telling us, "It's payback time, candidates!" And I thought I'd just go back to my old happy-go-lucky life where I make coffee for my bosses and deliver reports. Now, they're making me think and stay in the office, at the most around 9:30 pm. I'm even working on weekends too. Aaaaarrrggghhhh! So there. I'll try my best to blog. I'm just always so drained and tired at the end of the day. Oh by the way, I'm Top 9. That's good enough considering that I never really wanted to be a part of this in the first place. Now I dunno if I'm regretting it or not. We'll see. Graduation is tentatively set  on Oct. 11 and reorganization is on the way. Let's see what will happen to all of us after that. For now, here is the list of honor students:

Valedictorian - Atty. Dojie Polinar (our Class President)

Salutatorian - Atty. Jason Teng, CPA (the one with the highest score, actually)

First Honorable Mention- Alma Clemente

2nd Honorable Mention - Ireen Dimaano

3rd Honorable Mention - Maricel Vega

With Distinction:

Lloyd Bautista (MBA grad & Ph.D. student)

Joan Cruz

Gene Gangan

Jennifer Juan (just me)

Marissa Geronimo (MA Grad. in Industrial Psychology)

There are those  who are not in the honors' list  who were already offered managerial and supervisory  positions. And some were promoted to the next higher level. I'm so proud of them! I hope I can do good at my current tasks and make the entire program proud. CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!!!
