After all the preparations and excitement, the day has finally come. There were nights when I stayed in each of our home’s nooks and crannies and I felt this tingling sensation at the back of my neck… like someone was watching me. Maybe it’s just my imagination… I’m not really sure. But the house sure did spook me in more ways than it did last year including its preparations.
The party was held last Saturday, October 27. But as early as Friday evening, Michelle and Joan already went home with us. Nothing much really happened. We got home pretty late due to some last minute errands we needed to do before the event. So by the time we got home a little before midnight, we were all so tired already. Nevertheless, I gave the girls a little tour of the house. They were quite spooked, alright! But not as strong as the next morning. We were preparing to go to Festival Mall to buy a cake, some pots and pans Peter needed for his cooking. I knew our helper, Emy, went to the market to buy some vegetables and so I asked Peter if she brought her own house keys with her. Michelle replied that Emy was upstairs. She saw her went up to clean the rooms. Peter and I suddenly looked at each other. We knew it wasn’t Emy at all but one of Peter’s shape shifters. You see, Peter is always accompanied by his 70+ horde (or so he calls them) composed of spirits, elementals and other supernatural beings. They are quite harmless and quite helpful as well. The shape shifters are the playful ones and they like to impersonate people and sometimes we see them. This fact really got the girls spooked and they never left each other’s side since then.
Anyway, fast forward to the party itself. What can I say? We were so happy that our friends came and enjoyed themselves. There really wasn’t any order in the program of activities. Everybody pretty much mingled with the others and did their own thing, which was great, I think. Vicente showed the boys a video of his UFC Championship fight; Marco told some ghost story he experienced a few months back which pushed him to transfer condos from QC to Makati (yeah, it was THAT freaky — imagine seeing a ghost up close and personal for 20 minutes!!!! Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!); the rest of the TMB folks played and watched poker (Bim, Peter, Fritz, Anne and Coco, Lauren, Helga & Chris) as well as Mark, Dok, Mer & Tita Che; Michelle, Joan, Vina & Kiko, John, Ade, Steel, Ate Rose, Ninette, Koryn, Peachie and I watched a scary flick (we tried Omen but it was all talk and we needed something more heart-pounding so we watched Sukob again instead!); Rea and Elaine bonded; Readings were made (Rune stones reading by Peachie, Palm reading by Mer, Tarot card reading by me and Aura reading by Peter); and some had a gay-off videoke session til 8am in the morning (Ade, Steel, Mer & Peter)! Talk about a really fun after party when all the others had gone home. So who was the gayest of them all? Hehehehe. Secret…
I’ve been spending so many sleepless nights preparing the house for our 4-in-1 party celebration (my graduation from MDP, Irene’s birthday, house warming with friends and Halloween, of course). I’ve always been very excited about this time of the year because there’s just so many things you can do and so many decors and costumes you can come up with. I guess if I were to rank my most favorite seasons it would go like this: 1) Halloween 2)Christmas 3)Summer. Anyway, “tricks or treats” is the name of the game. There’d be lots of goodies prepared by Peter and brought by our friends, some scary flicks will be shown and most importantly, there’d be aura, rune stones, palm and tarot card reading. We’d do the spirit of the glass but some of my friends won’t hear any of it. Anyway, check out the preparations we’ve made:
