I can never sit still, for I am a free spirit. And I go wherever and whenever the wind blows me...

October 31, 2007

As we prepare for an out of town trip this Halloween season (at long last!), allow me to thank Fritz for sending me Bim’s picture. He was the Best in Costume winner for last Saturday’s Halloween shindig. Cheers!

Gotta go for now!  We only have a few hours left to pack, take  a bath, dress up and leave in time for our flight. Enjoy the long weekend folks! We’ll sure do!

Chop-chop!

Happy Halloween!!!

October 29, 2007

After all the preparations and excitement, the day has finally come. There were nights when I stayed in each of our home’s nooks and crannies and I felt this tingling sensation at the back of my neck… like someone was watching me. Maybe it’s just my imagination… I’m not really sure. But the house sure did spook me in more ways than it did last year including its preparations

The party was held last Saturday, October 27. But as early as Friday evening, Michelle and Joan already went home with us. Nothing much really happened. We got home pretty late due to some last minute errands we needed to do before the event. So by the time we got home a little before midnight, we were all so tired already. Nevertheless, I gave the girls a little tour of the house. They were quite spooked, alright! But not as strong as the next morning. We were preparing to go to Festival  Mall to buy a cake, some pots and pans Peter needed for his cooking. I knew our helper, Emy, went to the market to buy some vegetables and so I asked Peter if she brought her own house keys with her. Michelle replied that Emy was upstairs. She saw her went up to clean the rooms. Peter and I suddenly looked at each other. We knew it wasn’t Emy at all but one of Peter’s shape shifters. You see, Peter is always accompanied by his 70+ horde (or so he calls them) composed of spirits, elementals and other supernatural beings. They are quite harmless and quite helpful as well. The shape shifters are the playful ones and they like to impersonate people and sometimes we see them. This fact really got the girls spooked and they never left each other’s side since then.

Anyway, fast forward to the party itself. What can I say? We were so happy that our friends came and enjoyed themselves. There really wasn’t  any order in the program of activities. Everybody pretty much mingled with the others and did their own thing, which was great, I think. Vicente showed the boys a video of his UFC Championship fight; Marco told some ghost story he experienced a few months back which pushed him to transfer condos from QC to Makati (yeah, it was THAT freaky — imagine seeing a ghost up close and personal for 20 minutes!!!! Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!); the rest of the TMB folks played and watched poker (Bim, Peter, Fritz, Anne and Coco, Lauren, Helga & Chris) as well as Mark, Dok, Mer & Tita Che; Michelle, Joan, Vina & Kiko, John, Ade, Steel, Ate Rose, Ninette, Koryn, Peachie and I  watched a scary flick (we tried Omen but it was all talk and we needed something more heart-pounding so we watched Sukob again instead!); Rea and Elaine bonded; Readings were made (Rune stones reading by Peachie, Palm reading by Mer, Tarot card reading by me and Aura reading by Peter); and some had a gay-off videoke session til 8am in the morning (Ade, Steel, Mer & Peter)! Talk about a really fun after party when all the others had gone home. So who was the gayest of them all? Hehehehe. Secret…

Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

I’ve been spending so many sleepless nights preparing the house for our 4-in-1 party celebration (my graduation from MDP, Irene’s birthday, house warming with friends and Halloween, of course). I’ve always been very excited about this time of the year because there’s just so many things you can do and so many decors and costumes you can come up with. I guess if I were to rank my most favorite seasons it would go like this: 1) Halloween 2)Christmas 3)Summer. Anyway, “tricks or treats” is the name of the game. There’d be lots of goodies prepared by Peter and brought by our friends, some scary flicks will be shown and most importantly, there’d be aura, rune stones, palm and tarot card reading. We’d do the spirit of the glass but some of my friends won’t hear any of it. Anyway, check out the preparations we’ve made:

John, Happy Birthday!

October 25, 2007

John is one of our best friends. We’ve known him since our more serious college days in Ateneo. We weren’t blockmates though. His major was BS Psychology while ours was AB Psychology. But we hung out a lot at the Rizal Foyer and we partied a lot too, especially after college. He was the one who introduced me to The Fort during  Fat Willy’s and Big Boy’s heyday. Boy, that was fun!!! And I remember those times with him when Peter and I were newly weds, we used to paint the town red every Halloween, hopping from one costume party to another. Those were the days!

Now, despite our very busy schedules (he has his own production company, Street Park Production), we still manage to keep in touch. After all, we plan to get him as one of our hosts for our dream beach wedding in 2009 (*crossing my fingers*) hehehe. Anyway, this is how much we love John: We canceled (again!) our much awaited La Union surfing trip and Peter’s gimmick over at MOA with TMB in celebration of Toblerone’s Thank You Day, so we can attend John’s 30th birthday bash last Saturday,  October 20, at his house in La Vista. We came at around 10pm and some of our old friends were already there (Rea & Anthere). Peachie came with us after her Kendo session while Jowi followed after her pole dancing class (talk about getting fit!).

We did what we always do best: Hang out, eat, drink and have fun. Cheers to John! Here’s to more success and blessings in love, business and pleasure. You’re always fun to be around  and moments with you are always treasured.

P.S. Have I told you that I looooove your house?!

Happy Birthday Vina!

October 20, 2007

Belated Happy Birthday, actually…. Vina turned 26 last October 10 and celebrated it with us last Oct 11, Thursday evening until the following day, October 12, which was a holiday BUT both of us needed to go back to the office to do an unpaid overtime work (talk about dedication!). So down the drain went our plans of drinking all night. Instead, we just had a scrumptious Chinese food for dinner together with her fiance, Kiko, and our friends Rikki and Michelle; bonded the way gurls do; and let the boys take over the videoke this time. It was fun! It didn't happen the way we planned it but we made the most out of it. That's what life is all about, anyway, right?

Vina slept early, being tired and all… while Michelle and I stayed at the balcony and talked about LOTS of things under the moon and the stars. I think this was one of those rare moments that Michelle and I really talked about life, our plans, things that happened in the past, our families, our dreams and frustration, heartaches and aspirations. All these deep conversations happened while the boys were being very loud and drunk downstairs, you'd think they were watching porn! They were so boisterous! But we didn't mind… Hahahaha!

Time sure flies so fast. Everybody's getting older by the minute and it's nice an all. I just hope that we grow old with style and with some lessons learned as well. After all, this so-called life is one big classroom we can never escape from (until we die I suppose). So let's learn everything we need to learn, apply it in our lives and move on to the next lesson.
