Making Up For Lost Time

August 10, 2007

Recently, I’ve been having an extra dose of movie time. I guess, it’s an after effect of my emo roller coaster such that I just want to chill and relax after office hours. So I indulged myself…

Action-packed, as usual… but expect the unique ways Detective John McClane dodges death while injecting humor in his death defying life. Truly remarkable and may I say fantastically resourceful, this John  McClane is.

Epi Quizon was both the maker and main actor of this film. It’s quite star-studded actually. They had fine actors like Ricky Davao, Rita Avila, Julia Clarete, Paolo Contis and even Rivermaya’s vocalist Rico Blanco, who by the way, has good comedic timing in this movie. Who would’ve thunk? Anyway, the story revolved around Francis, played by Epi Quizon himself. Being a dead guy in the entire film , he ended  up with a lot of bad falls and stunts. My gosh! Ang hirap talaga maging artista! Fai, Alex and I couldn’t stop laughing. It’s as if we were high on ecstacy (which was actually Francis’ cause of death) the whole time, up ’til we went out of CCP Complex Cinemalaya Theater. Hahaha!

Peter and I thought we’d expect the usual flow of script The Simpsons always bring on television. We were wrong! Everything we expected didn’t happen, much to our delight! It was funny, alright. But more than that, it was crazy. Hahaha!

I watched this with my MDP group mates after office hours. We dropped by Starbucks  first where I ordered Banana Java  chip for the first time. Yumyum! Then we proceed to the cinema. We had such a blast, laughing and shrieking inside the theater (oh, correction, I was the only one shrieking during suspenseful scenes)! The action sequence wasn’t as heart-pounding than Rush Hour 2 but there were more jokes and funny scenes in this one. And for that, I salute Jackie Chan!
