The last time Peter and I went to Xaymaca was last June, a few days before we transfered to Alabang. In my book, that’s a pretty looong time. No wonder I’ve been missing Brownman Revival. A LOT! So last Friday, instead of staying in GSIS til 8pm, I got off late in the afternoon. It gave me enough time to window shop and run some errands, like upgrading our Family First insurance, which took a grueling 3 hours, give or take a few minutes. This is the reason why I hate going to their office. It takes up so much time and I usually end up investing in more insurance. I swear, if at any point in time, either I die or Peter dies, the one left will instantly become a multi-millionaire! But what if both of us die at the same time? Errr…

Anyway, that gave me a terrible headache afterwards so Peter bought me two buckets of Chef Tony’s Pop Corn (White Chocolate and Mocha), Ensaymada with Melted Cheese, and ordered me Frappucino at Coffee Dream then took me to a movie date. We watched License to Wed.
It was so funny and realistic at the same time. Although, I agree with the Human Walrus when he said that the plot was kind of putting the boyfriend on the spot all the time. As for me, I’ve always loved Mandy Moore’s movies. She’s a really talented actress and her sense of fashion in this movie was really eye-catching. I actually ended up buying clothes soon after. I’ll tell you all about it in another post… maybe.
The movie ended at 11:15 p.m. and gave us enough time to go to Xaymaca in Timog and watch Brownman again. We arrived during the first set and as expected, the house was full. We stayed outside and ordered our first round of drinks. A moment later, Jotay (the brownmanager) approached us. It’s been so long since I last kissed him hello. I updated him about the beach wedding plans and he told me that if it’s gonna be done in Bora, I’d have to take care of the band’s accommodations & plane fare too. I made a mental note of speaking with Club Panoly and see how they can help us with this, being members since 2004.
In the middle of our conversation, a nice college kid from PUP approached us, selling EVAN chocolates for P100 a bar. It’s pretty overpriced since one can buy this for less than 40 bucks in the supermarket. He made this sales pitch of raising funds for his tuition and all. I guess I was feeling generous that night so I bought one. A minute after, Peachie and Jowi arrived and I was able to make them buy one too, for the sake of the poor kid. I just hope that he was being sincere about it. I seldom buy into these kinds of scams or whatever you call it. But since he sounded pretty genuine, I succumbed to it. Then Koryn arrived just before the first set finished.
We all transfered to the back so we can take our seats, order some more drinks, and chat with the band members. It went pretty good and I was pleasantly shocked to know that Ambet (The Trumpet!) already has two kids! Two!!!
Jayson & Peachie… Bagay sila… too bad Jason’s married, heehee.
Jayson (The Trombone!) on the other hand was blooming and was really looking so gwapo for some reason. Riki (The Tech!) was sporting a new haircut. He claimed to be semi-bald a few weeks ago when he celebrated his birthday. He looked like a cute high school kid! How I wished Michelle (Riki’s partner) was there too. I miss that girl!
Us girls dancing to the reggae beat…
Jao (The Ace of Bass!) chatted with us for a while then went back to his gf (I forgot the name coz it seems like he is always with a different gurl every time, hehehe..way to go Jao!). Alfie (Oh Yeah Baby it’s The Guitar Man!) was still the same gentle cute guy who never missed to say hello. He’s a family man himself and he seems pretty happy with his life.
L-R: Jowi, Peachie, Ambet, Paw, Me, Koryn hanging out at the back of Xaymaca….
Dennis (The Beat not the menace!) was in a good, social mood that night. Too bad his wife Claire wasn’t around. I would’ve loved to chat with her. Jojo (The Sax Machine!) was quietly sitting in a corner (as usual). But we had exchanged a few winks from time to time. Paw (Steady na Steady Crew) poured his heart out that night. He was just being practical about his life and I completely understand his “undesire” for relationships at this point in time.
I think Peter is the luckiest guy around…having gorgeous girlfriends like Inky here…
Jan (Passion for Percussions!) was spending time with Inky who was lucky to have a night off last Friday, being a nurse and all. And Dino (Idealistang Vocalista!) spent time with us all, talking about deep and shallow stuff about life and points of views in general.
So who’s the 3rd & 4th wheel in this picture? Me, Koryn, Riki, Dino? Hahaha!
All in all, the night (dawn, rather), went pretty well. And my most favorite part of all was when they played two of my most favorite reggae songs of all time —- The Only One and First Cut is the Deepest by Big Mountain —- after 10 months of requesting!!! Dino said they have had to practice these songs and finally they played them. I’m still waiting for Caribbean Blue though… Soon, I hope.

Anyway, after they played, we still hung out some some more at the back of Xaymaca. We stayed until around 4am and we were the last people to leave. Hehehe. Talk about making the most out of it. Hahaha! Zombified, yes we definitely were!
Jowi likes to talk about sexual tension…
like this?

how about this?

and this?

this?
Heeheehee.
But zombified or not, we reached home at around 6am and let Koryn nap for a while as we prepared the ultimate breakfast ever! I’ve always wanted to have breakfast by the balcony at home. Unfortunately, we always wake up in the afternoon during weekends, skipping breakfast in the process. Then Peter had this idea of doing an all-night gimmick and coming home really early the next morning. So that’s what we did. And I was pretty proud of myself. Though it rained, making us use the lanai instead, we were still able to have the best breakfast this week — mushroom & cheese omelette, fried daing na bangus, rice, toast with orange marmalade, blueberry jam and butter, Cookie Crisps & Kellog’s Frosties cereals, orange juice and brewed coffee. Talk about big breakfast! This beats Breakfast at Mcdo any day! Koryn went home afterwards. Then it was time to sleep like babies for me & Peter.

Notice Peter’s between our boobs? Told yah he’s lucky! Hahaha!
my god. before the second set, dino and i were talk about pretty inellectual stuff. but AFTER the second set (and four bottles of pale gulped in not more than an hour!), i was talking shit about my delusional love life! haha! my gad.
totally had fun that night though!
