Backtrack II: July 28, 2007, SATURDAY

August 3, 2007

Hi blogosphere! Sorry for not being around lately. Aside from the fact that Smart Bro is really Smart B-R-O-K-E-N, I was just simply enjoying all the free time I have the past several days. Yay!

My grade in MDP  is OK (so far). I got 89 putting me at the upper percentile of the class. But it doesn’t end there though. I still have my business case which will comprise 35% of my entire grade, which, will eventually determine if I’ll be able to graduate by September. Oh well. I’m doing everything I can from 8am-8pm every weekday. I think I’m on track with the way things are going with my thesis and I’m also exerting enough effort in the immersion program. So for now I can relax. Another yay!

~~~oOo~~~
 The other day, CELINE at Mall of Asia had a sale and I was able to I shop for 8 pairs of shoes and 3 vintage 80’s dresses. I couldn’t wait to wear everything! But of course, that’s not possible so I’m taking it one gimmick at a time. Anyway, I wanted to wear my preggy-looking vintage clothes (yeah, Peter & I are sort of thinking of having a baby so I wanna know if I’d somehow look good in them empire cuts). It so happened that one of my best girlfriends was leaving for US and a despedida party was in order. So I got to wear this cute little black sun dress when we met up with Jem at BAZZO BAR in Bluewave (again).
I wasn’t sure then who else were coming. And Jem was only staying until midnight coz she still has to kiss her other friends goodbye & pick up some stuff in her office before finally leaving for the airport. So since Peter and I arrived quite early  that evening, we were able to have proper dinner by ordering other palatable dishes on their menu.
 sisig, krispy kangkong, sweet & sour fish bowl, calamares
Soon enough, Jem arrived and guess who was with her? Dino!!! Our dear friend who’s the lead vocalist of the country’s top reggae band, Brownman Revival. To think I was looking at their website earlier that night to see if they have a gig we can go to after Jem’s despedida. And then, this! It was really turning out to be a good night. Peachie, the beautiful Kendo player  and Jowi, the songbird with the golden voice, arrived a bit later. We ate, we danced and chatted the night away!
L-R: Dino, Jem, me, Peachie, Jowi
To top it all off, some mime artists came over and promoted some hot mime stuff! I even got to dance with a funny one who just grabbed me and brought me to the dance floor! Hahahaha! He kept pointing out how huge my mammaries were and it’s turning him on. Hahaha! It was so much fun!
And of course, having a celebrity in our midst didn’t stop some people from recognizing Dino and getting his autograph. He’s really not into these celebrity stuff and he dodges it as much as he can but what can he do? Brownman Revival is gaining more popularity and he can’t do anything about it but to simply go with the flow. Kudos bro! Hehehe.
It was getting pretty late and we didn’t want our goodbyes to be mushy and dramatic. So a little after 12mn, when Jem was kissing us all goodbye, my pretty friend Irene and her URCC Champ of a hubby, Vicente arrived! One last photo op then we all helped her and Dino get a cab. Jem, we miss you soooo much already! You’ve always been a source of inspiration for me. You’ve always kept on evolving and making yourself better! You’re so witty and gorgeous and so in touch with your spirituality. I really admire you Jem. I hope I can do the same for myself, even just a bit. Take care always, gurl. I love you so much!
The rest of us went to Cheesecake afterwards for some dessert and more talk. Irene and I did some catching up coz it’s been ages since we last saw each other! I missed her a lot. Irene is the type of friend you’d love to hang around with coz she’s just so motherly and nurturing. She’s not only smart and pretty, she also has a big heart and she’s just so perfect inside and out. I love you Ires! I hope to see more of you.
It was the first time I saw Irene and Peachie really talked like there was no tomorrow. And I was glad. I’m always happy when I see my friends (from different groups) befriend each other too. It just warms my heart.
We didn’t notice the time flew by so fast. It was almost 3am  when we all  bid good night and went home.  It was a perfect evening/dawn with my perfect friends and I’m hoping to have more of this soon.
