Of Exams, Wi-fi, Anime & Beauty Queens

See the nice building behind us? That's GSIS.
Midterm exams are over at last! Although I can't tell if I did well. For sure, my grade might be lower than my preliminary test results because I didn’t have a lot of time to study and review everything. Plus, the facilitators gave us all the questions in one go unlike before when they gave each test one hour at a time, allowing us to review for the next topic if we finish the current test ahead of time. Today? Sad to say, my mind went blank lots of times. Booh meeh!
Peter waited for me as I was taking the exams. I asked him to do so coz the moment we reached GSIS, I felt so anxious and uneasy that I just wanted him to be there. His presence calmed my nerves and made me feel secure, that no matter what happens (even if I fail), he would still love and accept me for who I am (naks, ang drama!).
While I was inside the training room racking my brains while also hoping to get lucky, he talked to my facilitators, Ms. Amy from Cebu and Dr. Karen Dela Cruz who was our college teacher in Organizational Psychology. What constantly amazes me about Peter is that he has this knack for charming people with his wit and humor. Imagine, I’ve been with my facilitators for two months now but I never got to talk to them on such witty, funny and intellectual manner outside of the training room. I bet they liked my hubby. Who wouldn't? He's so intelligent and funny and cute (*giggle*)!!! Did you know that three of my girlfriends are waiting in line for Peter to be their husband in their next life? It's really hard to find someone like him. He's almost perfect (since nobody is perfect) and I wouldn't trade him for anything in this world. He's my one and only (*melt*).
I finished before everyone else did, partly because I couldn't squeeze any more answers from my tired (but still sexy) brain. Then Peter and I went off to Mall of Asia for some little quality time. We hung out at Starbucks, thinking that I could abuse their free wi-fi service. Unfortunately, after ordering a caramel macchiato and roast chicken with mango chutney on rye, we realized their wi-fi wasn't working. And it sucked that the lady at the counter couldn't tell us why. Apparently, she was new on the job and didn't know what to do. I ought to boycott Starbucks! Bah! Bummer!
On the other hand, Peter wasn't saddened by it because it meant he wouldn't be competing with the internet for my attention. Hahaha! Anyway, being the almost perfect husband that he is, he scouted the area for other wi-fi service providers. After 20 minutes, he came back and told me we can transfer to Mandarin Wok nearby. If we buy anything from them that costs at least P30, they'll give us a free wi-fi access card that can last for 3 hrs! This is the e-yellowpages internet access. Not bad! Peter bought tea and leche flan and voila! We're online! We only stayed for a while to check my blog and see who's online coz we need to be at the cinema to watch SHREK 3 by 1:20 pm.
Peter is Shrek and I can be Fiona.
Oh God!!! SHREK 3 is the funniest Shrek movie ever! I couldn't stop laughing specially at the part where Pinocchio was trying not to lie in front of Prince Charming! Man! That's what I call intellectual humor!!! Half the time, I was thinking that the kids who were watching with their parents may not be able to relate coz the humor was so adult! Perhaps, the producers made it that way so both kids and oldies can relate — the kids with the animation and the adults with the humor and script! I mean, imagine a scene where Shrek sits side by side with a kid named Arthur and all of a sudden, the wizard Merlin plays the instrumental version of "That's What Friends Are For". All of the adults in the cinema started to laugh uncontrollably and I noticed that the kids were pretty silent. Duh! Anyway, I was glad I enjoyed it. Nevertheless, this feeling of unease in my stomach is still very much evident. Hay!
Blogging inside Mandarin Wok to de-stress…
After the movie, we went back to Mandarin Wok for some snacks and of course, to blog. That's where I am now, as I am writing this post. We ordered lots of food actually, not only to stay here a bit longer, but because I am super hungry, I don't know why. Must be stress.

Peter went out a few minutes ago to watch an Anime convention. We kept seeing teens dressed like Sailor Moon, Naruto and other anime characters. Peter got curious as to what the event is about and now (4:10p.m) he's there taking pictures. Anyway, enough about us. How's your weekend coming along so far? Have you guys been to Trinoma? Kai blogged about it. We'll try to visit it tonight. And I'll tell you all about it. Happy weekend fellow nomads!

Guess who these characters are?
I don't watch anime so I really wouldn't know…
They look really made up though…
but nice.
P.S.
We just got home (8:29 p.m.). After MOA, we were supposed to take the Manila route like what we did this morning to avoid the traffic along Edsa so we can still have time to visit Trinoma here in North Ave., Quezon City. Apparently, the traffic in Manila was also sluggish so we turned back and headed to Edsa. On our way there, we again passed by the baywalk near MOA. Peter noticed that the sun was setting so perfectly amidst the pink and orange horizon. We immediately found parking and took a shot of this perfect round sunset. Unfortunately, the sun was setting so fast that I only caught half of it by the time my digicam was ready. Darn.
Trying to catch the perfect sunset...
Good thing there were other interesting stuff to take pictures of. Remember the huge kite we saw at Starfish Island in Palawan last Holy Week, the one that had a wakeboard attached to it? They had that too this afternoon along the baywalk area of MOA. The only difference is that instead of having a wakeboard, the kite had a skateboard attached to it so a person can ride it as well while the kite is flying. Interesting toys Filipinos come up with, eh?

While all this was happening, a woman suddenly approached us selling her baked stuff like chocolate & cheese cupcakes, mamon, baklava squares, etc. And you know how she introduced herself? She said she used to be one of THE Miss Philippines titlist back in her time, when we weren't born yet. Her name is Simonette Delos Reyes and she's been selling her baked goodies since 1999. She was the first who brought the original California funnel cake in the Philippines. She used to have a shop in MOA but she had it closed and instead set up a stand alone table with her goodies along the Baywalk.

She also has her own cafe in Pasay. Hmmmm…I wonder if her goodies aren't selling that well anymore? Well, in fairness, when Peter & I ate her baklava squares, they tasted sooo delicious! A box contains 6 pieces for P100.00. It's a bit pricey but I think it was worth it!
Before finally heading home, we dropped by Kopi Roti to buy another box of Kopi Buns. We plan to spend the night watching the last few episodes of Lost, probably playing with the videoke afterwards and enjoying our buns (pun intended!).
G'night folks!

Posted by mrsaint at May 20, 2007, 9:24 amOoh.. I forgot the anime convention was yesterday. Hehehe. I was too busy moping around the house that I thought it was only the 18th. Hay, sayang.; the guy who posed as naruto looks like silly.

Galeng naman! Oh, and tnx for the compliment. Hihihi!
Hi Mr. Saint! You’re probably right. I was so excited to have a date with my hubby that I just wanted to finish the exams.Mwehehehe!
Kai! You an anime fan too? Sayang pala you weren’t there. I’ll try to start watching anime na rin. I’m wondering what’s so fun about it since matigas yung cartoons nila. Ciguro the stories are compelling kaya a lot of people like them. Oh, btw, I like the guy in white costume & makeup.Who is he? He looks like a real anime character that jumped right out of the boob tube.
wow nagutom ako sa entry na to ah. hehe
Posted by aMgiNe at May 20, 2007, 5:24 pmThe guy in white costume is a character from bleach, one of the top anime’s right now.
I’m sure you’d enjoy watching anime’s as most storyline are great.

Bleach…Hmmmm, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll ask Peter about it. He’s the one who sometimes watches Anime. Maybe, I can catch it on TV too when ‘m not so busy anymore. Or maybe, buy a pirated DVD copy about it, hehehe.
madamot nga talaga ang MOA sa wifi! hey cool marco the site guy was there about the same time you guys were. ^_^
Posted by liz at May 22, 2007, 11:39 amHi Liz! Hay naku, before, MOA wasn’t madamot. But now, I dunno what happened. Hay! I’m not going to Starbucks ever. Coffee Bean and Kopi Roti na lang. Hihihi.
your boobs are fake! or mataba ka dati kaya gumanyan boobs mo. ewwwwwwwww
Posted by Nomad at May 23, 2007, 9:47 pmHi Nomad! I wonder why you think that. Maybe my boobs look so perfect huh?! So I take that as a compliment.
Anyway, just to give you a background since I know you’re not a reader of my blog, I grew up from a poor family and until now, I am still paying for all the debts of my mom. So how can I afford to get my boobs done if I can’t even afford to pay for the entire debt of my mom, have my own beach wedding, or leave my current job to pursue something that I like? Besides, I have low threshold for pain so even if I wanted to have my boobs bigger, I think I’d die of pain. Anyway, if we become friends, I can let you touch my boobs so you’d really know. My friends have done that already and they like how my “puppies” feel.
Oh, when I got so thin before due to hunger and sickness, my boobs got smaller too. And now that I’ve been eating A LOT, they’re bigger again. Oh well. That’s life. Thanks for commenting!
