A Seemingly 24-Hour Hotel Living

February 8, 2007

It’s already Feb 8, almost 1am. We just got back home from our seemingly 24-hour hotel living. I’m so sleepy and tired but I missed blogging so much that I just had to post these pictures.

Peter’s cousin, Raul, gave us a certificate for a complimentary 1 night stay at Manila Pavillion. That’s where we stayed last night (Feb. 6). It was just a Superior room but the view was spectacular.

I finished work at 5pm. By 5:30, I was already at the lobby of Manila Pavillion. However, I couldn’t contact Pa. I had his room checked and he wasn’t there either. It turned out he was playing at the Casino. So I had dinner at Shakey’s instead, alone and somehow lonely. Peter’s still in the office at that time. Good thing I was able to buy lots of magazines and Archie comics which kept me company until Pa found me there two hours later. So by the time we finished dinner and headed to the hotel room to meet up with Peter, I was already tired that I just wanted to relax and  finish reading my magazines.

The following morning (Feb.7), it’s back to work again…

Yeah, I look so drab in my ugly uniform. Anyway, Peter accompanied me downstairs and helped me look for a cab. My office is quite near so I had a couple of minutes to relax, enjoy the view and take pictures with my baby. I wasn’t able to have their buffet breakfast but I didn’t mind. I gotta start dieting soon after all the pigging out we’ve been doing this past couple of days…

This afternoon, an agent of Sofitel called me at work and was trying to sell me a membership. Back in 2005, we were members of Westin when it was still under Starwood Hotels. Now, it’s already under Sofitel.

After work, I met up with the agent and he brought me to a Deluxe room for an occular inspection. I liked what I saw. It’s so different from the way Westin looked before. They really renovated the rooms and made them more modern and cozy.

One good thing about their membership is that we get to have a complimentary stay for one night. If we upgrade to a deluxe room, we only add about $85 and the food is already free for your entire stay as long as you eat at Club Sofitel located at the 10th floor exclusive for those checked in at Deluxe rooms. Wonderful!

So after I met up with the agent, I fetched Pa from the Casino. He was having coffee at the Treasure Island while I told him all about the membership. He agreed to buy it. After all, it’s only P5,700 and we can already get discounts when dining there plus my complimentary birthday cake which I plan to get on my birthday.

Anyway, as we were waiting for Peter, Pa headed back to the Casino. I’m not really into gambling so I stayed at their Coffee Shop instead. I had my Blackforest Cake and Choco Mocha Latte. Peter arrived after an hour. We went to fetch Pa, headed to Blue Wave for late dinner at Plato Platina then went home, tired, sleepy but happy. :-)

What are your plans for the future? Has it something to do with what you’re wearing?

Hi Mr. Saint! What do you mean exactly? Like rise up the corporate ladder of GSIS? Hmmmm… I don’t really have concrete plans in terms of work. I just like going with the flow and not to expect anything. For now, I just plan to still travel some more, pay for our new house, do our beach wedding next year and maybe have a baby too. :-)

Your plans as just as serious as your pair if eyeglassed. I knew it.
