9:00 AM
I was on forced leave from work yesterday and I used the earlier part of the morning to get our community tax certificate at QC Hall. Then together with Pa and Peter, we met up with our real estate broker, Rolly, and proceeded to Planters Bank in Makati to submit requirements and fill out loan application forms for the Primavera unit we want to buy. The transaction went rather smoothly if not for one stupid employee who couldn’t properly explain to us the terms and conditions we were hoping for. I stepped out of the room coz I was having what I call an irritation attack and I’d be bursting any moment. Good thing the other more experienced bank agent came to the rescue and Peter could always be counted on to keep things diplomatic. As I was calming myself in the restroom (by eating my chocolate Reeses I brought from home), Peter called me and said that everything was ok. Thank God for Peter! He really compliments my changing moods and temperaments. Love you baby!

We then proceeded to Alabang so Pa can see once and for all the unit we’ve been eyeing from the start. On our way there, Rolly was telling us all about this other project he has at Verde Island between Batangas and Mindoro. He also sells beach lots there and whether we’re interested or not, he’s offering to schedule us for a free overnight accommodation at their resort so we could have a feel of the place. If we like it, we could buy another property there. If not, it’s ok. He’s still able to market his project. I thought, cool! Maybe we could go there on the weekend of my birthday (Feb. 17-18), before Pa leaves for the US. He said he’ll let me know asap. I hope this pushes through. I’m excited! Oh by the way, Pa likes the unit a lot. We thought so too.

Late lunch at Festival Mall was ok. Pa wanted to have mami and siopao so we just grabbed a quick bite at Henlin. Then we had coffee in one of Festival Mall’s coffee shops before we headed back to Pasay coz Pa has been itching to play at the casino. On our way there, my boss called telling me to wear my complete uniform on Tuesday. Apparently, I’m one of the Top 40 Management Development Program (MDP) candidates who will soon undergo training. I don’t know what to feel. I’m happy… happy for them who are sincerely glad that I passed. Pa, Peter, and my other officemates like Ma’am Sylvia and Sir Tony never doubted my capabilities since the start of the program. I hope I can make it til the end. For them… and for me too, I guess. Anyway, I was so touched by my boss’ call that I felt the urge to visit her in the office. It was 6:30pm when we got there. I noticed the beautiful full moon over at the horizon… True enough, my boss was still in the office, busily preparing for a presentation. I kissed, hugged and thanked her in person. I introduced Pa to her and I thought, my boss aint so bad after all. She really is just one tough chick. Who knows, when I become a boss, maybe I can be like her. Ok, don’t panic now… Hehehe. Just a thought.

We then proceeded to Hotel Philippine Plaza (formerly Westin and now managed by Sofitel) where Pa played at the Casino. He let us play too. Unfortunately, after around 10 minutes of pushing buttons, our 500 bucks went down the drain. Darn. We decided to go out instead and leave Pa to his ultimate passion. Peter and I checked out the Spiral Restaurant and made reservations for Valentine’s Day. However, the table we wanted was already taken and the only tables left are the ones inside. We opted to have a post valentine’s dinner on the 16th instead so we can have the table we want. Anyway, the 14th is a Wednesday, middle of a busy work week and our car is on coding that day. We’ll just think of something else we can do nearer our home… or maybe just stay home and have a candle lit dinner. Whatever! As long as we’re all together, that’s what matters.

As Pa was having the time of his life inside the casino, Peter and I stayed by the pool side, enjoying the view for a while and enjoying the show being held at the Treasure Island and Sunset Bar. Then we got to talk about the new house and the design we want for it. He found a pen and a paper and started drawing the layout of the lanai. We like our new house to have an earthy/nature/beach feel to it while at the same time maintaining function. Gosh! We were really engrossed with our interior design ideas and before we knew it, it was already 9:30 pm! Time to check if Pa was still ok. Fortunately, from P3000, his money was now P6000. I told him to stop playing coz I was already hungry. Good thing he listened to me, coz I was really, honestly hungry by then and my mood changes dramatically when I am famished. Hehehe.

9:43 PM

It’s been a week now since I started craving for paella. We scouted the nearby food places along Disodado Macapagal and found this noisy restaurant, Mikey’s Bar & Grill, that shows horse races on wall mounted TVs. If not for the noise, it would’ve been perfect. But they do serve really delicious Crispy Pata, Ampalaya Con Carne, Oyster Salad and Paella Valenciana. I had a screwdriver too which I thought would wake me up coz alcoholic drinks do that to me as opposed to coffee that makes me sleepy. However, with this one, I had so much to eat that the alcohol failed to penetrate my blood stream that I ended up feeling more sleepy than ever. So after dinner, we all decided to go home and call it a night. We didn’t anymore push through with the Starbucks coffee session. We got home around 1:30 am, full, tired and happy. What a Friday!

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!

Jen, thanks for saying that. I’m a frustrated comic artist I guess. I’ve always wanted to draw, ever since I was child.
Perhaps, I’m able to do this now, to vent out my frustration… heheh. I guess you know what I mean.
Anyways, I’m still working on drawings for the next issue.
.
mmm.. Paella..
