T.G.I.F.

December 16, 2006

( Top)A pose with the vocalist, Dino. (Bottom) With Michelle, my “l*sbian” lover.

I was tipsy even before we arrived at Xaymaca. The whole point of the gimmick was to have fun without spending so much. So before leaving the house, I whipped myself a little treat  — Sun Tea and Vodka. I poured it in my ever reliable starbucks coffee mug and brought it with me in the car. I sipped it while we drove to Xaymaca and before I knew it, I was already talking about anything and everything while feeling giddy at the same time — a sure sign of my lack of sobriety.  Hahaha! I was so proud of myself!

(Top) Peter on top, Janurie and Inky below… (Bottom) Jowi & I with Alphie and Riki.

Once we were there I sashayed with ultimate confidence, not a care in the world! After all, I WAS DRUNK. Hahaha! Brownman Revival was finishing their first set when I laid eyes on one of my favorite girlfriends, Michelle. God, I missed her so! It’s been like forever since we were last together.  We hugged and kissed (and groped!) and held on to each other while listenin’ to Dino sing my favorite reggae songs. If you didn’t know us, you’d think we were lesbian lovers. Hahaha!

(Top) MIchelle, Liza, Vina, Jowi, Me, Ambet, Jayson, Jem, Jao. (Bottom) Drunk and having fun.

Then Jowi arrived after a bit. Gosh, it’s been so long since I last saw her too! A month to be exact, when we were  in Zambales with Dino, Jem, Ode, Peachie, Van, Iza and Edson. I was so glad to see her! She was blooming that night. I wonder why…hehehe. BMR was resting after their first set so I got to introduce her to the rest of the band.   When the second set started, my favorite waiter, Boyet, offered me my favorite cosmo drink. I needed it to help me conquer my shyness coz I wanted so bad to dance in front of the band. Good thing my other girlfriends arrived (Jem, Vina and Liza)  and they all followed suit. Other girls and guys came to their senses and started dancing as well. At this point, I remembered Dino telling us his sentiments that he gets a certain kind of high when he sees his audience dancing to their music and giving in to their beat. It lifts him up. So dance was what we did!!!

 Dancing like there’s no tomorrow…

To make matters A LOT MORE ELECTRIFYING, Inky was able to persuade me to come up and wipe Januarie’s and Dino’s sweat, just for kicks. The girls shrieked!!! When I was done, others in the audience started coming up to him as well. They hugged him and kissed him and took pictures with him! Dino was an ultimate celebrity!!!  And he deserved it! We all thoroughly enjoyed the last set, dancing and singing to the beat of their new songs (some revived from VST and will be released January of 2007 together with the rest of their songs included in the second album). Too bad when it ended, Dino just disappeared. He probably got overwhelmed with all of the tons of girls following him that he couldn’t even change his shirt. He was only able to say goodbye to Peter who helped him “escape”. That’s what I like about Dino. Even when he knows he’s already a celebrity, he still is very human.

Finally mustering the courage to act like a fan (I really am!).

We stayed for a few more minutes and chatted with the boys. Vina and Liza then bid goodbye while the rest of us transfered to Guilly’s near ABS-CBN. We met up with Emily, Jem’s bestfriend and the girlfriend of the owner of the place that’s why we were able to get in for free. Otherwise, we’d have to pay P200 each, a waste of money. Haha! We were starving by then. Haven’t eaten anything since lunch. I had seafood sisig and pizza. When I had my fill, Jowi, Peter and I went home, leaving Jem to party some more. What a way to spend my Friday evening! It was a complete success!!!

Super late dinner (or super early heavy breakfast?) @ Guilly’s with Emily

With our favorite bouncer … kissing time while waiting for the car.
