To continue with my story of our Boracay trip last Dec. 2-4…
The following day, we were supposed to wake up early to go island hopping. However, when I woke up around 5am, it was raining quite hard outside with matching lightning and thunder. Bummer! Now what?! Feeling very cozy and cold, I went back to bed and slept until 9am. Haha! So much for promising to spend the next day better. By then, the sky has cleared and we all started getting ready to hit the beach. Peachie and Vina were scheduled to check out at noon so we spent the morning frolicking at the beach and eating a hearty brunch.
We were enjoying our brunch around 11:00 am when the concierge approached us saying that the boat will leave around 11:30 am for those who were scheduled to check out. We were perplexed! We were told upon check-in that the boat will leave at 12:00 noon. Hurriedly, Peachie and Vina finished eating and went back to their room to dress up and finish packing. Naturally, they were late for the 11:30 am trip. They ended up being frowned upon and cursed by the foreign guests and this really got me so mad. Peter and I talked to the front desk telling them that it was not our friends’ fault. They apologized to us and even called Vina on the cellphone to apologize too and explain the situation. They also told us that someone already explained to the foreign guests about what happened and things seemed to have calmed down. Good! Or else I’d really throw a fit if I hadn’t already.

We then bid our two girlfriends goodbye and the four of us left behind went on with our boat trip to Crystal Cave and Friday’s Beach Resort. After 30 mins., we reached Crystal Cave. It looked quite different from last year. There are more stone castles this time and the path ways are more paved and therefore safer. We visited cave 1 and took a lot of FHM-like photo ops. It was funny coz while waiting for the crashing waves (in order to get the perfect shot), some people went down to cave 1 as well and saw us do our photo session. I noticed that some of them started taking pictures of us too. Hahaha! Feeling celebrity!
We then visited cave 2. On our way, we passed by the newly built stone castles and took some pictures as well.

From the top, we saw a beautiful view of the sea and the nearby islands. It was so peacuful. How I wish I could bring that view to our home so I could always look at it whenever I get gloomy. Sigh. Anyway, it was low tide at cave 2 that time and we were able to walk near the mound of crystals without much hassle.

After the tour, we headed back to the main beach, particularly at Friday’s. According to the boatmen, their beach is the most beautiful coz of its ultra white sand, crystal clear water and shallow depth of the sea even meters aways from the beach. It’s perfect most especially to non-swimmers coz theycan swim all they want and as far as they want without fear of drowning.
To make things more perfect, we even saw a lifeguard with a patrol surfboard. I was able to borrow it for a while and did some paddling and mock surfing. Oh, how I miss La Union and its waves at San Juan! (Soon…soon.)
Around 3 pm, we headed back to Club Panoly. We had to catch the 4pm free shuttle going to the main beach. We plan to check out D’Mall and do some partying! But before that., here’s another shot showing off our tattoos.

The drive to the main beach from Club Panoly only took around 5 minutes. We asked the driver to drop us off at D’Mall so we could do some sight-seeing first. Here in Boracay, this is the shopping mecca, a.k.a. THE GREENBELT of Aklan region. And for kikay girls like us, mere window shopping here already feels like heaven for us!
