Travelogue XIII: DAY 1 in Boracay (for real!)

December 6, 2006

Smile! Pretend I’m not afraid of the flight… Arriving in Kalibo, finally!

Yes baby! Boracay galore for three days and two nights, for real this time! Vina and Peachie stayed for only one night due to work. It was just Ate Rose, Ninette, Peter and I who were able to stay until Monday, Dec.4. It’s all typhoon Reming’s fault! Oh well. That’s life. At least we were still able to enjoy it and make the most out of our short vacay. Do forgive me for posting only now. I’ve been busy with work and I’m always tired nowadays that I tend to sleep much earlier than before. Hmmm…no I’m not pregnant, thank you. But I guess anything is possible these days…hahaha!

Alin…alin…alin ang naiba? Isipin kung alin ang naiba…

Anyway, going back to Bora, we arrived at Kalibo, Aklan last Dec. 2, 2006. From there, Club Panoly fetched us and transported us to Caticlan. The drive took almost 2 hours. We slept it off  since we needed to conserve our energy  for all the activities we intended to do.  From Caticlan Port, we  rode a  ferry going to Club Panoly Resort.  Peachie, Vina and Ninette were supposed to be dropped off at Station 1 where they planned to book a hotel room. But since the ferry went straight to Club Panoly at Punta Bunga, Peter and I tried to book them a room so we could all be together in one resort. Peter and I are members since 2004 so it wasn’t hard to book a hotel unit for our friends, especially since it’s off-peak season. If it was summer time, it would be much harder. And because I was feeling very generous, I gave them a super friendly rate of P1000 per person per night as compared to their published rate of $120++ per night.

After checking-in, we immediately unpacked our stuff and changed into our beach attire. We thought of going to the main beach via Club Panoly’s free shuttle service to check out D’Mall for some affordable dishes. But since it was fully booked, we had our late lunch at Club Panoly instead. We ordered Pancit Canton and Sinigang na Baboy. Each  dish was already good for three persons and we figured two dishes were enough. The food was quite pricey but since we were all famished from the trip, we didn’t mind at all. At least, they gave us complimentary bread and butter. We gorged everything in just a few minutes and after much chichat, we headed to the beach.

Uuuuyyyy. …parang honeymoon nila…!

Of course, we did a lot of photo ops. It’s a good thing that Peter is a photography enthusiast. Even when we were not looking, he kept taking our pictures. And those sunset pictures he took are really something to look at!

Ninette & Peachie

Adam Mordo’s Golden Caramel Goddess… naks!

Ate Rose & Vina

We swam, frolicked, laughed in the turquoise waters and sunbathed until twilight.  It’s the life!

Si Vina ay kasalukuyang natutulog sa beach habang kami ay nagpapa-picture sa Human Walrus…

pwedeng pang-post card… bente-bente lang poh!

That evening, we booked a special trip going to the main beach which cost us P750.00. We were dropped off at Jonah’s around 7:30 pm and we asked to be picked up at 1am coz we intended to do some major partying.  Since we were already at Jonah’s, which sells the best combo fruitshakes in Boracay, we ordered one each (Banana Mocha, Banana Peanut Mocha, Banana Peanut Chocolate, Banana Mango). Slurrrrrrppppp! It never fails to satisfy my sweet tooth, every time!

Jonah’s is yummy but breast milk is still best for babies.

Hungry as we were,  we almost finished our fruitshake even before we found a place to eat. We opted for the eat-all-you-can Mongolian dish at Sun Village for only P200 each. Not bad!

Bagay kay Peachie ang tan… lalo shang gumanda… :)

All around us were foreigners from all over the world. Aside from the local residents of Boracay, I think we were the only Filipinos there. So while eating, we can’t help but observe other nationalities do their thing. We  saw one Natalie Portman look-alike Aussie who easily hopped, all pretty and confident, from one table to another and settled on the one with Men from Holland. How amazing! I thought, if I were single, would I be able to do the same thing? Ha! I can only wish! I’M NOT REALLY INTO THAT KIND OF THING ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES I DO HOPE I COULD CHANGE MY PERSONALITY AND BE MORE ASSERTIVE, FLIRTY AND CONFIDENT. Oh well! Too late! Hahaha!

My nearly bare boobage b4 d tattoo… & my kastilyong buhangin.

Takeshi and his castle with his five smiling princesses…

When we got bored gawking at foreigners, we  walked  the stretch of Stations 1 and 2. We passed by the giant sand castles on the way and took pictures. It still is a wonder to me how the locals are able to do that. It’s so beautiful!

My  nearly bare boobage (again!) now with a gecko henna tattoo.

Anyway, being very full from all the food we ate, our serotonin levels went up causing us to feel tired and lazy. That’s when we knew we couldn’t party anymore. We still checked out Club Paraw and Club 5 though, hoping to get inspired by their loud music. But the consensus of the group was to just chill out and relax. We thought of walking all the way to D’Mall at Station 3 but suddenly, it rained quite hard and that’s when we knew, partying was not an option for us that night. Since it was still quite early and we had nowhere else to go lest we wanted to get very wet, we stayed put and had henna tattoos instead. It usually takes around 30 minutes for henna tattoos to dry and it was quite hard to do that since it was raining that night. But luckily, we still managed to keep our tattoos from being soaked in the rain and by 12 mn, we asked to be fetched by Club Panoly. What a night! We promised to spend our time better on our 2nd day.
