Tagaytay Threesome Adventure

November 29, 2006

This happened last weekend. It was just me, Peter and Peachie who pushed through with the scheduled trip to the cold place in spite of my being sick. After all, I needed to get out of the city (like I always do…hehehe) and relax. Actually, it was Peter and Peachie for the first few hours since I had to take some sort of IQ test at work which lasted until 4:30pm. (Yeah, it was that dreaded Management Development Program Exam which I SWORE I’D NEVER TAKE but eventually did for “pakikisama’s sake” despite my feverish state… Kinain ko rin lahat ng sinabi ko. Hay!). After the exam, Ode accompanied me to the bus station in Pasay and by 8:30 pm, I was already meeting up with my hubby and girlfriend at Tagaytay Rotonda. Whew! I think that was the first time after a looong time that I traveled alone. The last time was way back in highschool when I joined a journalism regional competition and traveled alone from Ozamis back to Cagayan de Oro City. But that’s another story.

Anyway, the moment I saw them, I felt relieved. I thought I’d die in that cramped bus coursing through slow traffic along Cavite since I’ve been experiencing severe migraine despite the meds I was taking.  Whew! When we got to Club Panoly’s unit at Grandview Complex, Peter fed us girls with his home-cooked white pasta. Yummy! I felt a little better afterwards. Nothing really beats his dishes every time! We ate and chatted ’til 10 pm then Peter and Peachie started craving for coffee. So we scoured the area and went all the way to Viewsite  and Josephine’s and even beyond. We’ve already been to those places so we went the other way. Shops seemed to be closed by then and the few cafes that were still open looked quite depressing. So we went back to Grandview Complex and voila! Just around the corner was Sanctuario, a 24-hour cafe, bar & grill.

It took a while for us to order coz we were so amazed with the place. It felt like our home  with all its pretty wooden antique  furniture and cozy nooks and crannies, only, it’s much bigger and has a museum-like basement. After a dozen photo ops, we chose a spot near the open window. The air was cold and breezy, perfect for ordering their specialty soup, hot brewed coffee and hazelnut capuccino. We also got bread, basil, cheese & garlic dips & pates. Total food trip! As if we weren’t full from Peter’s pasta dish! Hahaha!

After A LOT of talking about anything and everything, we called it a night around 1:30am and went back to our unit to finally rest. We slept together in one room. Us girls were quite scared of ghosts and the place was really pretty big for just the three of us. So to be sure that nothing will happen, we stayed in one place. Hehehe!

The following  day,  I was  awakened by the smell of  cheese and eggs. Peter  was preparing cheese pancakes  and spiced ham for breakfast.  WOW!  I  was planning on boycotting breakfast for diet purposes that morning but the smell was sooo irresistable and it just whet my appetite.  Goodness!  Peachie eventually woke up and we all ate heartily. Afterwards, we spent a little time enjoying the view at the rooftop as well as the feel of the cold misty air. It was really relaxing!

Full and satisfied, we took a long nap and woke up in time for our check-out. We finished first some of our left-over pasta and gave the rest to the unit’s caretaker. And the next thing we did after checking out? Yup! Your guess is right — another food trip! Hahaha!

We were supposed to look for Nurture Spa but we seemed to have gotten lost. So on our way back, we chanced upon Gourmet’s Cafe and stopped there instead. It was around 2pm, perfect time for a coffee break!  They ordered Coffee Mexicano and House Blend Coffee while I just had carrot and mango shake for diet purposes. Hahaha! Peachie also had some bread with garlic and basil pate (again!). We also toured the place a bit and Peachie even bought some pasalubong from their Country Store.

Afterwards, we visited Olivarez Plaza where a lot of ukay-ukay stuff are being sold. I was able to get 5 funky blouses for a total price of P100. Super cheap!!! It was just quite tiring coz there were so many to choose from and they were sort of dusty already. Perhaps, I was just very sensitive that time due to my colds. But I was really happy with what I got. I’ll be using the two black see through tops for our Boracay trip this weekend (weather-permitting, that is).

Quite tired, we were supposed to go home already when we passed by a new diner in the area called TEI DINER. Peter got so amused by the way that it looked, a 50’s diner with a modern day twist, that we stepped out of the car and took some pictures. We also checked their menu and since Peachie (and Peter! Hahaha!) was pmsing, we ordered food again! This was around 4pm and we swore this will serve as our dinner already. Honestly, I just don’t know where to put all the food. So I just took a bite from the Clubhouse Sandwhich I ordered and had the rest taken out while Peter and Peachie both finished their order of Chicken Fried Steak.  And then we went home, er, rather to Megamall where Peachie had buffet dinner with her family while I bought my papemelrotti  bookshelf and my brandnew pink Krizzie guitar! Yipee! =)

What a weekend! Now, this is what I call a real vacay — rest and food trip galore! Hahaha! I just hope I can lose some pounds so I can fit into my bikini this coming weekend. (ha! Goodluck to me!) :-)
