Tagaytay Threesome Adventure

November 29, 2006

This happened last weekend. It was just me, Peter and Peachie who pushed through with the scheduled trip to the cold place in spite of my being sick. After all, I needed to get out of the city (like I always do…hehehe) and relax. Actually, it was Peter and Peachie for the first few hours since I had to take some sort of IQ test at work which lasted until 4:30pm. (Yeah, it was that dreaded Management Development Program Exam which I SWORE I’D NEVER TAKE but eventually did for “pakikisama’s sake” despite my feverish state… Kinain ko rin lahat ng sinabi ko. Hay!). After the exam, Ode accompanied me to the bus station in Pasay and by 8:30 pm, I was already meeting up with my hubby and girlfriend at Tagaytay Rotonda. Whew! I think that was the first time after a looong time that I traveled alone. The last time was way back in highschool when I joined a journalism regional competition and traveled alone from Ozamis back to Cagayan de Oro City. But that’s another story.

Anyway, the moment I saw them, I felt relieved. I thought I’d die in that cramped bus coursing through slow traffic along Cavite since I’ve been experiencing severe migraine despite the meds I was taking.  Whew! When we got to Club Panoly’s unit at Grandview Complex, Peter fed us girls with his home-cooked white pasta. Yummy! I felt a little better afterwards. Nothing really beats his dishes every time! We ate and chatted ’til 10 pm then Peter and Peachie started craving for coffee. So we scoured the area and went all the way to Viewsite  and Josephine’s and even beyond. We’ve already been to those places so we went the other way. Shops seemed to be closed by then and the few cafes that were still open looked quite depressing. So we went back to Grandview Complex and voila! Just around the corner was Sanctuario, a 24-hour cafe, bar & grill.

It took a while for us to order coz we were so amazed with the place. It felt like our home  with all its pretty wooden antique  furniture and cozy nooks and crannies, only, it’s much bigger and has a museum-like basement. After a dozen photo ops, we chose a spot near the open window. The air was cold and breezy, perfect for ordering their specialty soup, hot brewed coffee and hazelnut capuccino. We also got bread, basil, cheese & garlic dips & pates. Total food trip! As if we weren’t full from Peter’s pasta dish! Hahaha!

After A LOT of talking about anything and everything, we called it a night around 1:30am and went back to our unit to finally rest. We slept together in one room. Us girls were quite scared of ghosts and the place was really pretty big for just the three of us. So to be sure that nothing will happen, we stayed in one place. Hehehe!

The following  day,  I was  awakened by the smell of  cheese and eggs. Peter  was preparing cheese pancakes  and spiced ham for breakfast.  WOW!  I  was planning on boycotting breakfast for diet purposes that morning but the smell was sooo irresistable and it just whet my appetite.  Goodness!  Peachie eventually woke up and we all ate heartily. Afterwards, we spent a little time enjoying the view at the rooftop as well as the feel of the cold misty air. It was really relaxing!

Full and satisfied, we took a long nap and woke up in time for our check-out. We finished first some of our left-over pasta and gave the rest to the unit’s caretaker. And the next thing we did after checking out? Yup! Your guess is right — another food trip! Hahaha!

We were supposed to look for Nurture Spa but we seemed to have gotten lost. So on our way back, we chanced upon Gourmet’s Cafe and stopped there instead. It was around 2pm, perfect time for a coffee break!  They ordered Coffee Mexicano and House Blend Coffee while I just had carrot and mango shake for diet purposes. Hahaha! Peachie also had some bread with garlic and basil pate (again!). We also toured the place a bit and Peachie even bought some pasalubong from their Country Store.

Afterwards, we visited Olivarez Plaza where a lot of ukay-ukay stuff are being sold. I was able to get 5 funky blouses for a total price of P100. Super cheap!!! It was just quite tiring coz there were so many to choose from and they were sort of dusty already. Perhaps, I was just very sensitive that time due to my colds. But I was really happy with what I got. I’ll be using the two black see through tops for our Boracay trip this weekend (weather-permitting, that is).

Quite tired, we were supposed to go home already when we passed by a new diner in the area called TEI DINER. Peter got so amused by the way that it looked, a 50’s diner with a modern day twist, that we stepped out of the car and took some pictures. We also checked their menu and since Peachie (and Peter! Hahaha!) was pmsing, we ordered food again! This was around 4pm and we swore this will serve as our dinner already. Honestly, I just don’t know where to put all the food. So I just took a bite from the Clubhouse Sandwhich I ordered and had the rest taken out while Peter and Peachie both finished their order of Chicken Fried Steak.  And then we went home, er, rather to Megamall where Peachie had buffet dinner with her family while I bought my papemelrotti  bookshelf and my brandnew pink Krizzie guitar! Yipee! =)

What a weekend! Now, this is what I call a real vacay — rest and food trip galore! Hahaha! I just hope I can lose some pounds so I can fit into my bikini this coming weekend. (ha! Goodluck to me!) :-)

My Thoughts Today

November 23, 2006

There are days when I feel like I’m trapped in a bubble and I couldn’t escape. Like I dread facing the fact that my other deams are far from coming true. Last time, I thought about my very short Christmas wish list. Well, now, I have some additional stuff I want and I hope to achieve them so I can finally escape this suffocating bubble I’m in.  Although, it’s not exactly for Christmas. It’s more of my life’s wish list. Here goes:

- intimate beach  wedding
- our own house and lot
- new car
- money savings
- baby

Hmmmm… I know anything is possible these days. I just hope I can discern God’s ways so I’ll know where, when and how to start. Peter, Peachie, my sister and I have been cooking up some preliminary business plans for next year. I hope they push thru. We might be shelling out our entire cash savings but we’re positive that these plans will work and prosper. Some things will just have to  be given up like travelling and shopping. Sigh. We’ll just have to focus whatever extra energy and free time we have on surfing  instead of  going to so many different places almost every weekend and holiday break. After all, we’re already having our very own surfboard custom-made and there’s no turning back from this sport anymore. Good luck to us and more power! :-)

Speaking of surfing, I just finished reading THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO SURFING by Peter Dixon  only after a few days. That’s quite fast considering that this book is like the encyclopedia of the surfing world! I guess, I really am THAT interested in this sport. I learned that surfing is not just about having fun at catching waves, but it’s also about learning to watch the nature of the water and my fellow surfers as well  so I could enhance my knowledge of the ocean and the sport . I have to be respectful of the lineup and very good at swimming with strong physical and emotional health before I can master or even just enjoy surfing.  Once I’m confident of my capabilities (meaning, ready to be wiped out on so many occassions) then I am ready to learn various moves and tricks. I’ll definitely be stoked! Well, I already am!  Reading about these things including  its history, the evolution of surfboards and their accessories, as well as similar sports like (boogie)bodyboarding and body surfing made me all the more excited to get better at surfing! I can’t wait! :-) Unfortunately, due to our other scheduled trips and activities (Tagaytay this coming weekend, Boracay on Dec.1-4, wakeboarding at Batangas on Dec.9-10, and GSIS Family Day on Dec.16), we might be able to come back to La Union no sooner than January. Well, at least our surfboard will be ready by then. Yipee! Unles we go there this coming Christmas break (Dec, 23-26). Hmmm… that’s a tempting thought… :-)

Ghost Whisperer I

November 21, 2006

Aaaaaaaahhhh!!!! I just finished season I and it’s soooooo bitin!!! I swear! I’m not sure if Andrea (Melinda Gordon’s bestfriend) is dead and if it was her ghost Melinda saw in the last episode. * I hate this feeling! Andrea can’t be dead! She couldn’t! She’s a very crucial part of Melinda’s life! Hay!

Well anyway, Ghost Whisperer is a TV series starring Melinda Gordon (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) who grew up like my hubby Peter— she sees ghosts. But unlike my hubby, she talks to them ALL THE TIME  like they’re just normal people and tries to help them out every chance she gets. In order to tell her story, she tells their (the ghosts’) stories.

It can be scary at first. But once you get in the middle of the each episode, you will surely shed a tear or two or even cry buckets coz when it comes right down to it, ghost stories are always sad. Either they have an unfinished business here on earth or they are just simply attached to their  previous life that they become earth-bound. That’s when  Melinda comes into the picture and helps out these ghosts to finally see the light so they could cross over.

Watching Gost Whisperer Season I sort of gave me hope that no matter how evil a person was in real life, they always, ALWAYS get to see the light towards the end, as long as there is repentance even during death. And also, no matter how weird you are, there is always a chance for you get hooked with a really gorgeous, kind, handsome (in short, perfect) husband. Peach, it’s not yet too late! Hehehe!

Catch a copy of this TV series! It will surely turn your boring weeknights into a series of  hair-raising experience.

Oh by the way, did I tell you that Melinda’s wardrobe was unique and never duplicated in any episode? Not even once! Groovy! I wish to have a wardrobe like hers — somewhat Victorian yet fashionably contemporary. :-)

*Since I’m no longer a contender in the webbys, I think I can do my share of online cursing…Hehehe! Oh liberty!

Trying To Earn A Buck

November 19, 2006

Yesterday afternoon and and this morning, we held a garage sale at Peachie’s place in Kapitolyo, Pasig. It was quite a hit! Yesterday, since we had more girly stuff, women from th neighborhood checked them out and bought some as well. I bought a couple of tops from Ninette’s pile which I plan to use on my future travels and a cute pair of earrings from Marichit. This morning, Peter and Tito Marito (Peachi’e dad), brought lots of shirts and jeans (and FHM magazines) , thus, we were swarmed by male customers.

Afterwards, we were supposed to go to this famous shop in Divisoria that sells affordable stuff, called 168, to spend our earnings. But due to extreme humidity, I got so tired and sleepy that I decided to postpone it indefinitely. Besides, the fight between Pacquiao and Morales was about to be shown on TV and Peter wanted to watch it. As the generous wife, I let him. So that’s what we did after a delightful lunch prepared by Tita Pachit (Peachie’s mom).

We got home around 3pm, freshened up, spent time as husbannd and wife and slept til 7pm.

I’m now eating this soup prepared by Peter which is supposed to help clear up my clogged nose. It’s working a bit. I can smell very faintly now. I hope to get well real soon. I don’t wanna spoil our nearing Bora trip just coz I’m still sick.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone! :-)

Heaven and Eggs

November 18, 2006

It’s actually HEAVEN ‘N EGGS. Weird name isn’t it? It’s where we had dinner yesterday with Peachie and Jowi. It’s located at Eastwood near Cheescake, etc. They offer huge servings of various combo breakfasts usually with eggs, bacon, sausages, and rice. They’re quite pricey too. Add to that a 12% and 6% additional charge for taxes. My goodness!

We passed by this man on the way downstairs to our meeting place. Oh, notice my cute pants? I sooo love it! And the bruise on my left arm? I got that from surfing. I love it too! It just hurts like hell. Hehehe.

I ordered Grilled Chicken Wrap priced at P170.00 (one of the cheapest on the menu next to kiddie meals at P125)  while the others had the usual breakfast combo at P250++ per order. Peter got a platter of different sausages and it came with potatoes, eggs and pancakes. Good thing they all tasted very good according to them. But I really wouldn’t know.

 We’re on a diet! Ha!

Due to my clogged nose, I can’t smell and taste anything. It’s a whole new experience for me. I even asked Peter if I’m already dead coz this is like hell for me. I sooo looove to eat!!!! And now I couldn’t even taste anything! As in NOTHING at all! It’ like eating paper or drinking water… uhmmm, well, not even close. I really can’t accurately describe it. More like being undead I guess.  I only eat to nourish myself and nothing more. Gosh, this is depressing. I hope I get well soon. Sayang naman yung mga pinamili kong chocolates kahapon sa SM. Huhuhu!

Addict sa blog!

Good thing I was with good company. I can’t exactly remember the things we talked about but I remember laughing a lot. When the three of us went on talking about girly stuff, stuff Peter couldn’t relate to coz, uhm, he’s a man (in case you don’t know — hahaha! private joke here!), he went ahead and surfed the net instead. Oh, did I mention that Heaven and Eggs is wifified? Yep! You can just bring your laptop (or pocket pc phone as long as its wifi-ready) there and be online in no time at all.

One last pose before parting ways…

Anyway, by 11:30PM, we called it a night and headed home. I still had to take my medicines by midnight and we’d still have to wake up early for our garage sale the next day.

A little more camwhoring for my perverse hubby before we left. :-)
