I’ve been feeling quite sensitive lately. This usually happens when it’s that time of the month and true enough, it is (I’m on my last day now, thank God!). Due to this abnormal state I’m in, I suddenly felt the need to drop a text or two to some of my friends I haven’t been with. Either because I felt something not so good was up or because I felt neglected and unwanted.

All dressed up for the night…
I’m really glad how our party turned out. Michelle and Riki arrived arund 7:30 pm, way too early than expected, it was a nice surprise. The ambience of the house was in full bloom by then and I was more than pleased to show them what I got. Scary sounds were playing and all the eery lights were on. Riki and Michelle totally freaked out! The house didn’t seem like the coziest place to be anymore and that’s just the way I liked it. Hehehe.
Peter, Michelle & Riki sharing ghost stories inside and outside the house
Peter’s rosemary chicken was all prepared to be devoured so we served them some. Riki is a food enthusiast too and he was very delighted to have tasted Peter’s dish.
And your card says…
Riki stayed only for a bit since Brownman Revival still had a gig that night. But he promised to come back after a few hours with Dino and Joan. Yipee!!! While he was there, I did some tarot card reading for Michelle. It turned out, she related to most of the readings. Freaky.
Peter and Peachie Odhe, Riki and Ninette
The rest of the night, more of our invited friends started coming in. Peachie with her Runes, Odhe with a makeshift quija board, Ninette with Cecille, Dino and Joan with Riki right after their gig, Koryn, Pat, Alvin, Angel and Dodgie.

After sharing the food each one brought, and after doing a lot more tarot card readings for everyone, we tried summoning ghosts via quija board and some “kulam” or spells by Tony Perez. Odhe has been feeling and seeing some spirits around the house and it was confirmed by Peter. But unfortunately, we weren’t succesful in summoning a single spirit. Later on, I found out that Peter has been warding off evil spirits since those that got interested in our little play were quite hostile. No wonder Peter got sooo tired and napped for two hours while the rest of us were just downstairs watching a scary film.
very much engrossed in watching SUKOB
Speaking of film viewing, we watched SUKOB. We chose it over Silent Hill and Grudge 2 and all those other thriller flicks. And we weren’t disappointed. We were screaming our lungs off the whole time and we were all scared out of our wits! We were all afraid to go somewhere else (like the bathroom for instance even if we “had to go” already). Hahaha! Awesome!
Ninette, Cecille, Riki, Joan, Dino and I were just enjoying the party.
Speaking of feeling scared, Joan wasn’t able to stand it. She was shaking the whole time so she and Dino decided to cut the movie watching short and went home early.
Ces and Odhe Ninette and Ces
As for the rest of us, after SUKOB, we watched this gory B-movie entitled Live Feed and it was pretty disturbing. Talk about body parts being tormented and cut off into a hundred different ways and pieces, you’d be crazy to stomach the whole thing. Whew! And finally, one by one, some dozed off in the wee hours of the morning while the others quietly went home. What a party!
Happy Halloween!!!
Surf’s definitely up folks! Again, as my last tribute to October being the surfing month, and before we go all Holloweeny, I wanna share with you the 4th and last segment of my surfing adventures this year, which started only last summer. Watch how better I got at this sport. I mean now, I can already ride waves, both big and small! It’s pretty hard, I tell you — paddling and catching waves on my own. Most importantly, I’m no longer afraid of huge waves! They’re actually a lot more fun than the calm waters of various seas I’ve snorkelled in my lifetime. Anyway, here’s what we did last weekend at our favorite surfing spot in San Juan, La Union. Oh, did I mention that I brushed elbows with the gorgeous Luke Ladrigal and the very talented Poks (the one-legged surfer), both top wave riders in our country?! Woohoo!!!! Enjoy!

Isn’t Luke the most gorgeous surfer ever?!!!

Getting ready to surf…
I though that was the end of our bad luck….

Odhe and I with Poks, the one-legged surfer
Going to La union for the 4th time now, I thought we’ve already memorized our route. Nevertheless, I still brought our ever reliable mapbook with us just to be sure. And we were keeping our eyes open for all the turns we needed to make the entire time. Still, we missed our turn in Gerona, Tarlac, causing us to pass by Dagupan, a much longer and unfamiliar route than we were used to. In short, we got lost!
At is point, Jerico was teaching me how to position my hand in such a way that I’d be able to touch the waves.
woohoo!!!

Surf’s up folks! Again, as a tribute to October being the surfing month, I will be sharing with you more of my surfing adventures which started only last summer. Watch how better I got at this sport. I mean now, I could already stand up the freakin’ surfboard even if there are no strong waves! It’s pretty hard, I tell you. I can already paddle and I’m slowly learning to catch a wave on my own. And most importantly, I’m no longer afraid of huge waves! They’re actually a lot more fun than the calm waters of various seas I’ve snorkelled in my lifetime. Anyway, here’s the third segment of my surfing adventures… Enjoy!

Iza’s brother, Van, Iza, Peter, Me, Cecille, Mark (Ninette and Dodgie were somewhere else at this point)
It’s been a month since we last surfed and being pretty addicted to it, I couldn’t wait to go back to the waves again. So I asked all my friends if they are interested in going with us. Fortunately, seven of them said yes. That’s more than enough. Yipee! La Union, here we come!

Welcome to San Juan Surf Resort (238 Bgy. Urbiztondo San Juan 2514)
However, when we finally arrived at San Juan Surf Resort, we noticed that the waves weren’t that huge. We were bombed. Travelling about 6 hours from Manila to La Union is no joke especially when it means having little sleep and scrimping etxra money just so we can have more than enough for gas, food and surfing lessons. Good thing we brought our new skimboard and this was the perfect opportunity to try it out.

Peter and Jericho tries skimboarding for the first time.
I have my own style in skimboarding which the others couldn’t quite get (the way I couldn’t do it standing up).
At around 4 in the afternoon, our luck started to change. Waves were starting to form and we immediately took advantage of it. Even if we had only 1 surfboard, we didn’t lose any time. One by one, for 10 minutes each, we tried our best to catch a wave. And that’s just what we did! Yahoo!!! The waves may not be the kind we hoped for but they will do.
Peter and I caught a small wave
In the evening, Peter and I brought our friends to our favorite dining place in the city, Halu-Halo de Iloko. We were such a huge group! We were so famished we ordered and ate like there was no tomorrow!
