Me, Gadget Geek?

August 1, 2006

I’m not the maarte type of gurl you know. I’m just  a simple person with simple needs who’s kinda makikay and belongs to the fashionista types. I can be a geek rin shempre, especially when my studies are involved. But other than that, I never really considered myself the techie or gadget geek type of gal until I realized the number of  stuff  I (with Peter’s help) accumulated in a span of 1 year or so…

My Sony  HC26E Mini Camcorder - we bought this in Malaysia last April at a much lower price (equivalent to P21,000 as compared to P26000-P34000 here); my 2nd one actually since my JVC camcorder was washed out by the waves in LA Union last summer. Darn it.

Pentax Optio W10 Life Proof Digital Camera - replaced both my first Nikon Digital Camera (due to old age)  and my first Pentax WP Optio waterproof digital camera (which was stolen at Mugen Bar in Metrowalk last May. We never went back to Mugen since. Add on: Brownman Revivals’  cd of their new orig songs was   stolen there and so did Vina’s wallet at another date. The waiters there are EVIL, I’m telling you!) Anyway, this camera can do everything —  from going underwater to climbing mountains. It has so many settings including  both regular and  underwater video recording! Amazing! It even takes pictures in sepia, black&white and negative. It can also  take shots of every second of a fast-moving object/person (like when we went surfing and skim boarding for example).  It just has everything we need and it’s very affordable and durable. What else can we ask for, right? …

O2 XDA IIs Phone Pocket PC - which replaced my Sony Ericsson P800 and Toshiba Pocket PC. I bought this coz I wanna be more mobile in my transactions and I want to be connected to the internet anytime, anywhere.

My Ipod Nano - replaced my Creative MP3 player we bought in Singapore in 2005. The Nano almost got busted by the waves in La Union last summer but luckily it survived. Whew!

Nextbase portable DVD player - mostly used during our travels when we have nothing else to do while in an airplane or in transit or resting in our hotel rooms or camping by the beach. This way, we can still have fun when we have nothing else to do.

Acer Laptop with Crytal Bright Wide Screen - It’ got a 40 Gig hard drive with 512 MB DDR2, with Intel Pentium M processor, integrated wi-fi, a DVD combo drive and a multi-card reader. I intend to use this more for my blogging and other personal computer stuff. Peter uses this for work too.

Lastly, my Creative Travelsound portable speakers - I just bought this one last weekend together with my new laptop. I found out about this while blogging and it caught my attention. This type of speaker is so affordable (only P1,499) and portable. It uses four AA batteries and you can attach it to your ipod whenever you’re out camping or sun/moonbathing on the beach or if you had a blackout and you & your family/friends still want to listen to your favorite tunes . Your neighbors will be so envious! He he he.

See? I’m not that of a geek when it comes to gadgets… Kinda lang… =)
