Fashion & Style by the Sexy Nomad

Her very own fashion journal, traveling through time, with no boundaries... Sexy Nomad is the extreme type. She doesn't go out of the house without anything funky to wear. She doesn't care if it's "in" or not as long as she's comfy and she can be her real gypsy/bohemian self. On the other hand, when she's at home, she can wear old rags or go naked for all she care. But that's another story…

Fashion Forward: Trends for 2008

by Trina T. Epilepsia of Clickthecity.com
posted on Thursday January 31, 2008

Fashion is highly subjective: one girl’s denim du jour is another’s ‘mom pants.’ Actress Sophia Loren once claimed that being sexy was 50 percent what you actually have and 50 percent what others think you have. Confidence and attitude will trump trendy clothing anytime. That said, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to know the latest looks or trying out new styles. Knowledge is the key, that’s why it’s important to do your homework before you head out to the store. If you don’t have time to troll the glut of fashion websites and are suspicious of salespeople, then read up and see what things pique your interest.

The free, kitschy spirit of the 1970s is wafting into the fashion scene once again. According to stylists Prisara Morales and Alodia Sales, muted colors, funky statement accessories, and ‘Annie Hall’-inspired fashion will be all the rage for 2008.

Well, well, well… what do you know. Even before the Annie Hall inspired-fashion was declared by trendsetting fashion gurus as hip, I was already wearing (some of) it. Just look at me during my Disney Land Hong Kong trip last November!

When in Rome…

November 5, 2007

…do as the Romans do, or so the cliche goes. So when in Hong Kong, do as the Hong Kong people do — be fashionably dressed!

You see I've always been frowned upon by not so fashionable people when I dress up the way I want to here in Manila. But in Hong Kong, who cares?!

Here It Is!

August 28, 2007

I'm thinking of putting up a sub blog or probably just a new tag about fashion (street fashion, beach fashion, mall fashion, party fashion. etc.) But mostly, MY SENSE OF FASHION over the years. Hehehe. It's gonna feature the Sexy Nomad in its vainest form from 2002 onwards. Eventually, I'll look into my network as to who wears what and where can we get those pretty little things we call clothes & accessories. Hmmm… what do you think? "  — Sexy Nomad

And now, here it is, vanity, my favorite sin, my very own devil's work. Oh Lord, forgive me. I know you won't let this petty hobby of mine erase all the other good things I've done in my life. It's just a wonderful thing to be able to show how one can create  beauty out of all the rags  available in the market, right?  That's like letting my creative juices flow thereby showing I am also your co-creator, coz I create beauty for everyone to see! (Now, who says I can't philosophize my way out of vanity?!)

For my first fashion post, let's talk about boots! There aren't a lot of Pinays who go around in boots and I guess for good reason. With our tropical weather, wearing boots here can lead to hot feet instead of a hot look. It's a pity though, because boots are a great way of punching up the ooomph factor of most outfits. Me, I like 'em precisely because not too many people wear 'em. Why follow the herd when you can stand out, right? Here's some of my photos featuring several of my beloved boots!
